The Girl Who Came Back For Jerry

━━━━━━━━━

"You suck. That fight was horrible man." Jerry greeted with a knowing smile as Jack walked into the dojo the next morning. Jack rolled his eyes and made his way to the locker room past his friends. He didn't need this. He pushed his bag into his locker before he felt a presence at his right. He slowly turned to see Jerry standing right next to him, his arms cross over his chest as he watched Jack intently. "Did you not hear what I said?" Jerry teased. Jack nodded as he pulled his gi out of his locker and began to change.

"I did, Jerry. I just didn't want to respond." Jack hinted as he glared back at him.

"Well that's not very nice." Jerry mumbled as he looked down directly at the ground. Jack frowned.

"I'm sorry?" Jack tried. He knew exactly who should be saying sorry in this scenario. Jerry's eyes widened as he began to pace around the other side of the locker room. Jack tied his black belt around his torso before looking over to see Jerry running his fingers through his abnormally long hair. He actually hadn't cut it for the longest time.
"Was it something I said?"

"Do you think I need a haircut?" Jerry cut in as he finally stopped and looked over to Jack. Jack felt his face scrunch up at that. What was he talking about?

"Huh?"

"You heard me, do I need a haircut?" Jerry repeated, a more stern tone to his voice. Jack shrugged. He knew how this game went. He would tell him to get a haircut, only for him to do the complete opposite for no apparent reason.

"I guess if you want one-"

"Answer me!" Jerry yelled as he stormed forward towards him. Jack felt his face scrunch up as he tried to figure out what had his friend so agitated. The fight was days ago, he couldn't still be this upset about it. Then, it hit him.

"Fine, yes. I got one for Kim so you might as well get one for whoever you're freaking out about." Jack finally snapped as he watched Jerry lose all control. Jerry was yelling at Jack and calling him out on losing the fight. He saw no point to that. Plus, the only reason he lost was because he noticed Kim sitting up in the stands halfway through the fight. He knew that she would stand up and make a scene if he got the other kid to punch him down a few times. This was one of the many times where knowing Kim too well, came in handy.

Yes, he hurt the dojo's reputation, and probably hurt the other kids' dojo as well, but he did get to finally see Kim in the end. He finally got to figure out why she sounded like she was lying on the phone. The only bad part about all of this, she was in danger somehow. He needed to fix this. He had to save her. It didn't matter if she had told him not to. He would do whatever it took.

"What do you mean! There is no girl!" Jerry yelled before stomping out of the locker room. Jack shook his head and followed slowly behind Jerry as the two made their way back to the mats. Jerry stomped over to the other side of the dojo and threw himself down against the smoothie bar. Jack frowned and walked over to sit next to Milton on the mats.

"What's up with him?" Jack asked. "He kept asking me if he needed a haircut." Milton shrugged and stretched out a bit as he looked over Jack to Jerry. He seemed completely out of it. Normally Jerry would be attempting to side kick either Jack or Milton by this point. Something wasn't right.

"He was like that with me, too. A little less loudly since he was mad with you about the fight, but he did ask me about the haircut right before you walked in." Milton replied as he jumped up off the ground. Jack sighed and nodded. He had indeed let everyone down.
