It's been five months. Five months since people have been dying left and right. Five months since I've seen Dian. It's also been five months since Keval and I became best friends.
I was currently in his car, on our way to see Chrissy. Miraculously, she didn't die. However, she was in a coma. I would go and visit her, tell her what's been going on, and hoping that one of these days, she would wake up.
Our relationship wasn't one of the best for awhile, but I was finally getting my sister back. It picked at my heart whenever I thought about how close I was to losing my sister.
"you good?"
I blinked back tears that were forming in my eyes and turned to Keval who kept glancing at me worryingly. I mustered up a small smile before nodding.
"you sure?"
"y-yeah. I'm just uh....worried," I cleared my throat.
Keval used his free hand and clasped it with my hand that was resting in the console. I tried to ignore the sparks that shot through my arm.
"she's going to be okay, Paris. I promise,"
"don't make promises you can't keep, K," I sighed.
"she's gonna be fine, ma,"
I didn't bother replying. Partly because we were pulling into the hospital parking lot and because I didn't want to snap at him. Keval was the only person who actually considered me a friend because of who I truly was.
Not because of my gang leadership or money. Just me.
And so, I didn't want to lose him. I hopped out of the car and put my leather jacket on. We walked hands in hands silently straight to Crissy's room.
My eyes landed on her immediately. She looked like she was in a deep sleep. Her purple and blue hair was laid out on her pillow, her chest moving up and down unsteady.
I shook my head as the memory of Aiden crying loudly over her last night, crossed my mind. I walked slowly towards the bed and just stared at my sister. I wanted to burst out crying because it was my fault why she was in this state.
But I held it together...
"h-hey, Crissy. Um, I don't know how to say this politely but could you just wake the fuck up? It's getting lonely at home," I sighed.
I heard Keval chuckle before I felt a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. Again, I tried to ignore the sparks that shot through me.
"I don't think she will like that when she wakes up," he whispered hotly.
I shivered as I felt his hot breath on my ear. I turned around in his arms and rested my head on his chest. We stood there for awhile before his phone went off. He released me and I stepped back as he checked the caller ID.
His eyes widened before he covered it up with a smile and went outside. I turned back to Crissy and finally cried.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Ever since Keval to take his call, he hasn't been back since. I kissed Crissy's forehead and made my way out. When I was finally in the parking lot, I walked to one side of the car.
I knew Keval wouldn't hear me because during my training, I learned to make my footsteps even lighter than a toddler's. When reached the side of the car, Keval's back was to me and he was still on his phone.
"look, I know what I'm doing okay? It's all apart of the job,"
He waited a few seconds before continuing.
"don't worry, I'll be the one to kill her and no one else. Okay? I know. I know," he sighed.
"operation gain Paris's trust," he finished before hanging up.
"say what now?" I shouted.
He spun around quickly to face me and his eyes widened in shock.
