Joshua, Leon, and David were the first to have to watch. The road around on their horses, covering every part of the town back and forth they went all night. David had a little brother, who just didn't understand the word no. He was eight years old boy, very intelligent for his age. Now the men met each other every hour, just to checking they were still alive.
David was closer to the wood than the other men. He was sitting on his horse looking around. Her heart was beating rapidly. But he knew he couldn't show anyone that he was scared. As he glances about, he saw something move in the bushes. "Who is there?", he said as he slowly steps off of his horse. The steps began to sound as though they were getting closer. He quickly took out his gun. Who is there! Come out now! He screamed as he was about to shot anything that moved.
Then a voice said, "Brother it's me, I'm sorry." said his younger brother Lee as he comes from behind the bushes slowly and afraid. Boy, what the hell is wrong with you. You know I thought you were something else. I could have shot you, he said as he grabbed his brother by the shoulder. "I couldn't sleep. Knowing that someone is killing only the men in the town, the kid explained as he puts his head done in shame. Boy go back home and get in bed. You aren't men, so you don't have anything to worry about. So boy go home now!" he said as he shoved his brother towards his home. But you're a man what if something happens to you. You are alone out here, said Lee, as he grabbed his big brother's hand.
Listen, I'll be fine. All those men that are getting wasted have done something bad in the past. I'm twenty-two, and I never even killed a rabbit. This thing does want to kill me. So boy go home now!" he said as he now picked him up, placed him over his shoulder and dropped him off at the front door. Lee looked at his brother worried. He doesn't want to leave his brother alone. Yes, there were two others out there, but they were indifferent, a section of the town, too far from his brother. Fine, but I don't think that I'm going to get any sleep, he said as he opened the door and entered. Well, try, when I'm done my shift, I promise I'll wear you up and let you know I'm home. Now go! said David, as his brother locked the door behind him.
Lee ran up to his bedroom and set up a station near the window. He had no plans in sleeping, so he stood near the window to look out for his brother.
David went on his way. Then after being alone for about an hour, the sheriff sends him some company. Hey, buddy, Sheriff Johnson send me out here to keep you company. He no longer wants one man at on the post. He said we might need backup, so here I am, said Lenny as he rides his horse towards David and stops it right next to his. "I'm kind of glad you are here, it gets scary out here at night. Young man, believe me, I understand. Don't worry, I got your back, he said as he handed him his water cantina. David drank water and then passed it back. A couple of minutes went by and Lenny began to hear whispers.
"Hey, Lenny is your name, I do understand you and your buddies did something bad. Buried me alive yes that what you did. That's a mistake you won't make again," said the doll slowly and creepy. "Did you hear that? Lenny asked as he started to step off of his horse. "Hey, where are you going? Look stay on your horse. It's safer," said David as he followed him on the horse Look kid to go back if I don't come back, go get the Sheriff said Lenny, as he entered the woods.
David didn't know what to do, so he also got off his horse and stood far back, that way Lenny won't yell at him. Lenny walked slowly following the sound of the whispers. You are still trying to find me I see. I will kill you, you know once you see me my friend, the whispers of the wooden doll were traveling and combining itself with natural which made it even more frightening. Lenny was a badass, for now anyway. He kept following the whispers. As he got closer to the noise, he saw a rabbit hole. Then he noticed that a rabbit ran into the hole. Shit, that will be very tasty right now. Make a little fire, and make a cookout out of all this, he said as he started to set a trap for the rabbit. After a couple of minutes, the rabbit ran out of the hole and got his foot trapped on the rope. He couldn't get lost.
Shit, yes, I caught myself a rabbit, time to make a fire, he said as he went to pick up the rabbit off the trap. As he bent down to grab it off the ground. Oscar appeared very pissed off. He ran up and bit the rope and set the rabbit free. Why are you killing the rabbit, he is just like me innocent, he said as the rabbit ran away before Lenny got his hands on the rabbit. Rabbit can't fight, but I can't, you let my body rot, he said as he began to walk towards Lenny as he was moving back somewhat getting ready to run.
Oscar ran like Speedy Gonzalez, he ran so fast that Lenny couldn't get a good look at him. What the hell is that? he yelled as he turned to run. The doll leap as high as he could and landed on Lenny's hair. Lenny began to pull his hair trying to remove the doll while running. Get the hell off of me, he kept repeating, while still yanking hair off his head. Lenny had a scar from falling off his horse in the past. He tried to grab the doll, but the little thing was too fast, somehow he opened up Lenny's scar and slid right through the skin tearing it as he entered. Lenny began to scream while trying to fight the doll. David heard him scream, he quickly jumped back on his horse and headed in his direction. When David finally reached him he quickly got off the horse and went to assist him.
As he got closer, he saw Lenny on the ground struggling with his chin. He didn't know what to make of the whole thing, but somehow he had to help him. He ran to the Lenny and took out a cloth to stopped the bleeding. As he pushed down to stop the blood from running, he heard someone say, Hey kid you blocked my exit. Now I must find another one." When he heard this he took out his gun then sat on the ground. He looked around looking for whoever was whispering. But there was no one out there. Then he heard the soft tiny voice again, Dumb kid you block my entrance, Shit, I must find a way out. David kept holding on Lenny's chins, then suddenly Lenny's eye began to bleed.
Young David noticed it. When he was about to clean the blood. The dolls head popped out of the eye. David screamed, what the hell is that? he said as he back up. While trying to get up to run. The doll was covered with blood and body guts, nasty looking little thing. David was so nervous that he kept having trouble getting off the ground. The doll and his bloody self- found his way to Lenny's forehead. Hey, kid, no need to run. I would like to have someone to talk to for a couple of minutes. What's your name boy? Oscar asked as he jumped off Lenny's forehead and went towards him.
My name is David, What are you? said David still trying to get up and crawling on the ground away from Oscar. Well, first I must tell you not to run. I won't hurt you. You didn't do anything to me, any way not that I remember. I do have one question for you? Why do you help people that kill? the doll asked as now he was standing right in front of David My father is too old to be out here, so ever since he been sick, I must do the manly thing of the house, he explained. How long has your father been sick? asked the doll double checking, making sure David father was one of the ten. He's been sick for about two years now. What are you? again he asked "Well boy, how can I put it, I'm very evil man worst nightmare.
But you young man it's your lucky day. I want you to go home right now. Make up a lie, and don't come back out here, the doll said as he pointed his chest I can't leave him here alone, said David who now was standing up Listen to me boy, go home now. Make up any reason, just go. Don't worry about your friend, his already dead. You are innocent if you want to live, go now, said Oscar as he walked in front of David making him back up. David was kind of confused and scared that he quickly jumped on his horse and went home, already making up an excuse in his mind, I'll just say that my little brother needed me and I heard him scream but didn't see a thing. Yes, that is what I'll say. He finally arrived home. Thank goodness I'm home sweet home, though as he put his horse in the barn and went into the house.
