Cole and I were at my seven month appointment today. Originally he wasn't going to be able to come with me because he was going to have to be at the studio but my appointment got changed and I was glad he was with me. It was a normal routine appointment but it was always nice to have him with me.

"What takes so long for the doctor to come in?" He complained.

"She's got other patients, babe. Maybe one of them has her talking."

"Well, this is boring." He put his head back on the chair and stared at the ceiling.

"I don't know what you're complaining about. You've come with me to so many of these appointments before and you've been fine." I looked over and saw a stack of magazines. I picked one up and tossed it in his lap. "Here, something for you to read."

"No thanks." He picked it up and held it out to me. "I'm fine. Normally they already have the thing on you so we can hear his heartbeat while waiting. I don't like waiting in silence."

"Oh okay. But it's not silent. We're talking. You just want to hear him." I smiled. "I love you. You know that?"

"Yes and--" He was cut off by the doctor opening the door. But I knew what he was going to say anyway so I smiled at him.

"Hi. Sorry to keep you waiting. I'm running over with appointments today." She apologized. She did what she had to do and asked me all the normal questions then looked at me funny. "Are you feeling anything right now?"

"Besides him kicking? No. Why?"

"Because you're having slight contractions." She explained while looking at the paper coming out of the machine.

"Okay. But isn't that normal? I had early Braxton-hicks contractions with my other two kids too."

"I remember. But these are closer together than they should be. Let me monitor it for another fifteen minutes. I went to make sure they're not too close."

"Okay."

"Let me explain why I want to watch it this time. I know I've talked to you before about how there are risks with this pregnancy being that you're over thirty-five."

"Right." I nodded.

"If the contractions are too close, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It just means you're going to have to go really easy. No major activities or running around unnecessarily. We want to make sure that the contractions don't progress until you're closer to your due date. He needs to stay put until March."

I nodded again and watched as she locked over the paper for the next few minutes. "Is it looking okay?"

"It is. I'm not saying you're in the clear because you did have three contractions in the time you've been here. But you haven't had another yet. So what I'm going to say is limit your activity. We'll set up another appointment for two weeks instead of a month and you are set to go." She picked up her folder and left the room.

I instantly felt eyes on me. "I know what you're going to say so please don't say it."

"Bridge, this isn't a joke. And I know exactly what you're going to do. You're going to say you're fine and still do everything you always do. You can't do that this time. You don't have a cold or the flu or whatever else. You're pregnant and you have to take it easy."

"I will."

Cole put his hand on my arm as I turned to grab my coat. "I'm serious, Bridgette."

"I know and I'm going to take it seriously. I would never intentionally do something that would make me go into early labor. Trust me, as uncomfortable as being pregnant gets and as much as you want the kid out of you at the end, I would never want him here earlier than he's meant to get here." I smiled but he looked at me still concerned. "Cole, it's going to be okay."

"I know. I'm just worried."

"Why? She said as long as I take it easy, there won't be a problem. And I'll be back in two weeks to get checked on again. It's going to be fine."

"But I'm always going to worry about you. You know that."

"I know." I took his hand and gave him a kiss before we walked out to the receptionist and I got my next appointment. Then we left and got in the truck. "What are we going to do for the next four hours? I don't feel like going home. I've got stuff to do there that I want to avoid doing."

"I've got an idea." Cole looked over and smiled at me.

I slid over next to him and laid my head on his shoulder. "What's your idea?"

"You'll see."

Forty-five minutes later we pulled off the road and passed a no trespassing sign. I knew where we were. I couldn't believe that he remembered it. "What made you think of this place?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. I just figured we could sit and talk. And when you said you didn't want to go home, I thought we could go find some trouble instead." He repeated what he had said fourteen years ago when we found our way here the first time.

"And you said the other night that you don't remember anything."

"Okay, maybe I remember some things. The things that my mind lets me remember." He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close.

I kissed him. "You're the best."

Sorry this chapter is kind of short. Do you think Bridgette will take it easy like she's supposed to? Do you think the baby will wait until March to come? Anything else going to happen?
