The pic on the side is of Felicity in the outfit she wore.

Shane

It's three.

She's here, and I've been trying to get her attention all day.

I keep looking at her, and I'm trying to be careful because I don't want her to be uncomfortable.

I'm sitting at the bar pretending to do paperwork, when really I'm just drawing random shapes because I'm bored out of my mind.

I hear the bell above the door jingle, and all the employees are prepared to help.

She serves whoever it is, and then the chair next to me scrapes.

I look to my right.

Jake.

"What's up, bitch?" he asks.

"Work." I lie.

He looks at my paper and snickers.

Most of the girls are working, and Macy has brown hair and brown eyes too.

Jake hardly ever comes in. He knows all the employees by name but if he sees them in person he has no idea who they are.

"Which one is she?" he whispers.

I look up.

Felicity is standing, leaning against the counter, talking to Macy.

She's wearing black skinny jeans today, and a red and black plaid shirt. Her brown hair is down, and she's not wearing any makeup.

She's so fucking beautiful.

"Plaid." I say, hardly audible.
"What?" Jake asks.

I pick up my pen and write plaid

He looks up.

His eyes lock on Felicity, and then he stands up and walks away.

He comes back a second later.

After fifteen minutes, all the customers are gone.

I turn in my seat.

Why isn't anybody here.

"It got dead really fast." Macy frowns.

"We should all go out tonight." Jake says loudly.

I look at him.

Heather is immediately interested.

"To where?" she asks.

"Mickey's Pub." He says. "Who's down."

Everyone says yes.

Except for Felicity.

She leans against the counter, twirling one of the rings on her hand.

"What about you?" he looks at her. "What's your name? I've not seen you around her before."

"Felicity." She says. "And I'm not going out tonight."

"Why not?" he presses.

"I have a date tonight." She folds her arms across her chest.

No.

No. Fuck. I start to panic a bit.

"Really?" Macy asks, her eyes lighting up. "With who? What does he look like? Is it a first date? How long have you been together?"

A smile toys at her lips.

"A year." She says. "And no, there have been many, many dates."
