Chapter 25

I was awake in a white room. Bumangon ako at nakita ko si Xander sa may sofa at nakatitig sakin ng seryuso. I was very quick then to look away. Hindi ko ata siya kayang makita pagkatapos ng mga nalaman ko. It's now all made sense. All this time Xander knew me and maybe being friends with me is part of the plan to know more about me.

"What happen to you Yllana?" he firmly ask. Pero hindi ko siya nilingon at nagsisimula na naman akong umiyak. Gusto kong makita si Hezekiel. Gusto ko siyang makausap. I heard him take a breath and sigh.

"I called your mom but she's on a meeting. She ordered me here." He walk towards me kaya mabilis kong napunasan ang mata ko. "May nangyari ba sayo?" he sits on the bed. Bahagya akong umiwas pero hinawakan niya ang kamay ko. "Yllana look at me."

I bit my lower lip hard and shook my head. Ayuko silang tingnan, ayuko silang makita. All I want right now is Hezekiel. "I want to go home."

"Okay." He patted my head. Lumabas na rin siya ng kwarto kaya umiyak na talaga. But I gathered all my strength to stand up and got ready to leave. Ilang minuto pa ang hinintay ko saka bumalik si Xander at inalalayan ako hanggang sa labas ng hospital. Yong kotse ko na lang din ang dinala namin but as we head home my phone suddenly rings. Kinabahan ako bigla.

My eyes widen as the realization is now sinking on my mind. Si Rylle! He called me earlier but I pass out. No! Mabilis kong hinalungkat ang bag ko at ganon na lang ang kaba sa dibdib ko ng makita ko ang mukha ni Rylle sa screen ng phone ko. He's calling.

But as I heard his voice at the other line, I wish I didn't take his call.

"Why did you lie to me, Zoe?" he said. I was shock. Ni hindi ako nakapagsalita. Later did I just realize ay wala na siya sa kabilang linya. I got panic in an instant.

"Sa school. Ibaba mo ako sa university." I shouted at Xander.

"No. You need to rest." His voice was strong. I bit my lower lip hard to ease my tears. "Yllana kailangan mong magpahinga. Look at you! You look mess."

"I don't need you!" I said. The car stop. He eyed me closely but I also give him the stare he deserves. Siguro nga pinagtatawanan na niya ako eh. All this time he knows I was the one who should be blame on the death of his sister's bestfriend. He just wants to know me. That's all.

"Yllana."

"I know Xander. Alam ko na. So if you would ask me again if I didn't know anything. . I knew it all now. Happy?" I sarcastically laugh while wiping my tears. "I want to go at the university and that's final."

"Yllana." He reaches out.

"No!" I shouted as I stop him from touching me. "I. . . I didn't know. . . hindi ko naman talaga alam eh." There, I cried my heart out.

"Yllana." I felt his fingers touching my bare hands. "It's okay. Don't cry please." Then he pulled me into a hug. Napahagulhol na talaga ako.
