Even when Luke told Gideon that another student was coming, he didn't believe it. Even when he felt the impression from the force that someone important was coming, he didn't believe it. No, he only believed it when the girl was standing right in front of him.
"Hello, I'm Rey." She said in a deep accent (though he was not sure what it was). He stuttered a bit, having not talked to a girl his age in...years. I mean, sure he talked to the force ghosts and Luke, but another REAL female human being? Not so much. He responded (or tried to at least) with,
"Hi. My name is Gideon. Current padawan of the great Jedi master, Luke Skywalker."
She nodded, seeming impressed. "Interesting"
He blushed, and hoped Rey didn't notice.
He turned back to face Rey, and stuck his hand out.
"Good luck Rey, and may the force be with you."
She took his hand and shook it, smiling.
"May the force be with you too Gideon."
