'Timmy?' Rayn thought blankly. The dragon most definitely did not look like a Timmy. He looked more like a 'Lord Death' or some other name that revealed his terror. Not Timmy. Timmy was that stupid kid from the Fairy Oddparents for God's sake!
The dragon appeared as displeased with his name as Rayn was shocked by it. "My actual name is Timburlentis, you insolent child, not that ridiculous nickname." The dragon growled, sending chills down Rayn's spine.
"Yeah, so, Timmy. Timbur- whatever is too long and hard to say." Eresia replied, still grinning.
"Shut up, Eresia! I told you, I hate that name! Call me that again and I'll kill you!" The dragon snarled.
"And how exactly are you planning to do that, huh? I mean, I'm not going to help, and since you don't have a body..." Draven left the statement open ended, keeping his tone casual. But no one could mistake the amusement in his eyes.
"Why do you refuse to harm this little b-irritant?" Timmy asked, changing the name he was about to call her after receiving a glare from everyone in the room excluding Eresia herself.
Draven didn't bother to answer the question, simply raising an eyebrow at him.
"Yeah, I guess that was a stupid question." Timmy sighed.
"Okay, back into my soul you go." Draven said, and Timmy disappeared, presumably back into Draven's soul as ordered. "Come on, Eresia, we gotta go."
"Okay!" Eresia skipped over to him and the two of them left the study.
It was only then, when she couldn't see Draven anymore, that Rayn recovered her composure.
"A dragon? Isn't that a bit... overpowered?" Rayn muttered. Then she remembered something. "Hey! If the powerful demons drive their," she paused here, frowning as she tried to find an appropriate phrase, "human vessels crazy, and Timburlentis is so powerful, then why isn't Draven crazy?"
"Because, in Timburlentis' own words, he has no interest in such 'boring' things. Apparently, tormenting a child isn't quite his cup of tea." Etios smiled. "And both Eresia and time have proven Draven's loyalty and sanity, though Eresia did say something along the lines of 'he's almost broken' when she first brought him here."
"And what's this whole training thing about? Do I have to do it?" She asked.
"No. Draven wishes to take over my position as Eresia's guardian, so he's training for that. You have no need to train unless you wish for it." Dan answered.
"But we do hope that you will join us in this fight against the Turned Seers." Etios added from his seat.
Rayn frowned. "Why? I mean, I'm a scholar, right? I'm pretty average in sports and I doubt that I'll get any combat abilities even when I Fuse with my demon."
"You won't get any combat abilities. But, fact of the matter is that we need all the help we can get. Cases such as Draven's are rare. And our ranks are made almost purely of goblins, gremlins, knowledge spirits, succubi, and other relatively weak demons which don't have combat abilities. The opponent is the exact opposite. To say it usually takes over twenty of us to take down one of them is an overestimation of our abilities." Etios sighed.
"Why are our demons helping us? They're demons too, wouldn't they want to rule the world as well?" Rayn asked.
"No! For us weaker common demons, Earth is a heaven! We won't get regularly beaten up, or have to worry about needing to pay our respects to the higher demons. There are even a few demons who, upon re-entering Hell, immediately commit suicide so they can come back to Earth! We definitely don't want demons to come rule Earth as well!" The knowledge spirit on Rayn's shoulder cried.
