Waking up the next morning was a challenge. His body ached, his head was cloudy, opening his eyes was hard every ray of light seemed to bother him.

He groaned, reaching down to grab the sheet and place them over his head. He pulled at the sheets, they seemed to be stuck somewhere, e pulled until the soft material slipped off his finger, almost punching himself in the face.

He groaned again, forcing to open his eyes to look why the fuck these sheets weren't moving. Aiden had fallen asleep next to him, his body wrapped in the blanks. Niall sighed, and smiled seeing the sleeping beauty next to him.

He moved closer to him, gaining more blanket and wrapping himself up, his body touching Aidens.

He looked up and was so close to his face, he could see every perfection and imperfection on the boys face. Wanting to reach and touch him, his skin looked beautifully soft, but decided against it, not wanting to interrupt the boys sleep.

He looked so beautiful, sleeping soundly his chest rising and lowering with each soft breath he took.

Niall was happy to have him, as a friend, as a lover, as someone who understood him. He was a good person, and he wanted to protect Niall. Niall thanked h for wanting that but Niall needed to learn how to do that himself.

He couldn't depend on people. He himself needed to be strong.

He gave up and reached over to touch the boy's face not caring if he woke or not, it looked so soft!

His hand froze though, he noticed he had bandages on his wrist, and a small path or red has seeped through. He frowned reach with other hands to run his finger over the bandage. He didn't.

He was strong, he had Aiden, he couldn't have.

Then like a big tidal way, all the memories came from last night.

Harry, Taylor, AIden, himself, the others, the cutting, the blood, AIden's yells, his touch.

Niall wanted to cry, to scream, but he noticed Aiden besides him shift in his sleep, and sighed, even though he had promised to never do it again AIden had stayed behind to help him and be next to him. Niall knew he loved him. Niall wished he loved him back as much as he did.

He could now, seeing how Harry had reacted last night, all the chances he had were now gone forever. Harry will never love him the way he did, never return those feeling he hated so much because it made him feel so weak.

He looked over his bandaged wrist, and frowned. He was sure he had upset Aiden, and he hated that. He didn't want to see Aiden upset, he wanted to see his smile always. The way his eyes closed when when he smiled widely, creating crescent moons in his eyes, and his smile wide. The way he would lean back when he laughed, and held on to Niall so he wouldn't fall back. He liked him a lot.

A lot.

Maybe he could even love him?

No, Niall was rushing too fast, he needed to get over Harry completely before letting Aiden into his heart.

"Niall?" Aiden's deep morning voice, he yawned and stretched his arms over his head.

Niall nodded turning over to him on his side, and looking up at him.

"Hi" he said, smiling up to him, happy to see awake because he was getting awfully lonely.

He smiled, a yawn leaving his lips, he reached to run his fingers down the side of his face, falling to his cheek and running his thumb over and over the soft skin.

"Did you sleep well?" he said, whispering, his eyes still heavy from sleep.

The suddenly his smile left, and worry filled his face, he sat up quickly, and took Niall's hands in his looking over them, cursing softly as he notice some blood had seeped through. He was going to stand up, gotta change them he said, gotta look over them and see if they were healed he said.
