Valora POV
When this Devin person came and interrupted my first kiss, that really pissed me off. Especially since I could tell Jev didn't like the guy either. But when Jev put his arm around me, it really made me feel good.
After Devin told us I was to be introduced I had a minor panic attack in my head. Of course I didn't let in show, but inside I was wondering what I would say to everyone. Before I knew it, Jev took my hand and was now leading me towards the gathering room. Once inside, I looked around the room for any other possible exit, it turned out at the other side of the room were my height sized windows. All noise stopped when they saw me, bringing me back to notice everyone. Immediately I let go of Jev's hand.
I decided my best course of action would be to stand next to the alpha dude. My feet carried me lightly to where he stood and as soon as I did, he started talking.
"Today I have brought you here to recognize the help that we are to be given. I have searched for some time for an Assassin by the name of Valora Shadows. And I have found her," he motioned towards me.
There was a laugh from the crowd of people, well werewolves actually. Alpha dude's face stayed the same but I could tell he was angry. I put a hand on his arm and said, "Let me."
I stepped forward and addressed the crowd, "Who ever dared to laugh, please step forward." I paced in front of the crowd with my hands behind my back, I never let my eyes stray from the girl's face I knew laughed. After a second of hesitating, she stepped forward. My intimidation dropped a level when it turned out she was taller than I was but I didn't let that stop me. She had short blonde hair and hazel eyes, she was smirking at me and I could tell she was a real bitch.
"What's so funny?" I asked never letting my gaze drop from her eyes. I knew wolves didn't like being looked in the eyes, she looked away from my gaze.
"Just the fact that a shrimp like you is an Assassin," she snorted.
"Is that a problem?"
"Yes in fact it is."
"Then what are you going to do about?" my question surprised her.
"What do you mean?" she asked confused.
"Since you have a problem with me, what are you going to do about it?"
The girl hesitated. She didn't seem to understand what I meant. I sighed, I guess I was going to have to elaborate. "Are you going to pick a fight or will you ignore the fact that I am shorter than most of you and trust me?"
"You know what? I think I will fight you. And when I win, it will prove the fact that you are the worst Assassin and our alpha was mistaken when he went after you."
"So now you think your alpha is wrong?"
The girl's face paled and she looked at the alpha dude who most likely was not happy.
I cracked my knuckles drawing her attention back towards me. "Do you still wish to fight?"
Without answering, she tried punching me but I caught her hand. She tried again with her other hand but I caught it again. When I had both her hands caught, I kicked her in the stomach and she went flying to the other end of the room. Once she hit the wall I turned back to the crowd. "Are there any others that would like to prove nothing?" They stayed silent and just kept looking at me.
I looked over at the alpha dude. "Would it be okay if I set a few rules?" He nodded and I looked back at the crowd.
"It has come to my attention that y'all are having a bit of a problem with a monster of some sort. I apologize if I'm putting it mildly but let me continue before there are any complaints." I looked around to make sure none would comment. "I am now putting y'all on a curfew," there were a few yells of complaints but I continued. "An hour before sunset I want ever single person indoors. By no means is there a reason for anyone to be outside at that time. Do I make myself clear?" No one responded.
