A blinding flash of light momentarily turned twilight to noon. The sudden, blinding light was succeeded by a deafening bang and an eerie, floating screech. A sickening crack and ear-splitting shatters pierced through the cold, night air.
Darkness fell once more. Sirius fled. In the dim lighting, Sirius's light outline could be seen in the distance, becoming fainter and fainter, farther and farther away, as he left home to the Potter's house.
Regulus had ducked and glanced around. The windows of the Black Manor were completely shattered and there was a deep gash in their family portrait. Sirius's hex had not hit him. It would have if he had wanted it to.
Regulus stared at Sirius's silhouette. Everything, memories, his childhood, the past, came back to him - in flashes - flooding back into his already overcrowded mind. In front of him flickered the image of four year old Sirius laughing before darkness completely engulfed him.
It was then he made up his mind... to tell Kreacher.
