Scarlet's vow

Chapter 3

Scarlet convinced Severus to stay in Prince Manor while she went back to United States to get her daugther. If her plans were to be ruined she atleast must have a say in it. While walking down with Council woman Hope, the pair started discussing war. "Your majesty, will your family regaining the throne cause a war with the Ministry?" said Mary Hope. "Mary, questions get people killed, watch your tounge. Is this the lounge my daugther was assigned too?" She said halting on a golden door. "No, the princess is over here, your majesty" said a suddenly frigthened Mary, she was referring to a simple wood door. "Alohomora"

Melody felt her door open and saw Scarlet, suddenly a wave of relief pulsated through her. She might be a 19 year old girl, but she needed her mother inmensly at this moment. "MOTHER!" she shrieked and hugged Scarlet. Scarlet might be seen as a just, ruthless leader. But when it came to her little girl, her heart always melted. Scarlet hugged her daugther close and smelled her hair. For a moment she believed to have a baby Melody in her arms. "Oh my dear I was so worried, have they been treating you well?, oh my, look at you Melody, you're a sack of skin and bones" Scarlet said worriedly. "Ms. Hope, has my daugther been feed at all?, why is she being treated in such conditions, have you been treating my daugther as a criminal?" Scarlet recieved no response and continued "MACUSA promised exelent care for my daugther, who is responsible for this." Ms. Hope was worried, she had been underfeeding Melody on purpose. You see, British Prime Minister Kingsley, offered her quite an amount of money to get the girl ill. If she became ill enough, her parents would focus on her instead of destroying the ministry. Ms. Hope was about open her mouth and admit her crime. She was ready to lose it all, but the girl spoke. "Mother, I'm fine, really. My feeding tube was conected to those of jail cells, I simply never bothered to ask for different food. Don't worry." Melody said, she quickly went inside to fetch her things. "We're deeply sorry princess, if you ever decided to voice your complaints we would've fixed the situation inmediately" as Ms. Hope was speaking she noticed the girl packing her items and that the Queen had two portkeys dangling from her neck, Mary panicked, Kingsley's instructions were to keep the girl locked and sick. "Well, I'm glad you both enjoyed visiting hours, but I have a very urgent meeting with the president in some minutes and my presence is mandatory. I can't supervise this visit at the moment, you can say your goodbyes" Ms. Hope was about to tremble from nerves. She's always been an honest woman, but lately she's a liar, a corrupt witch, someone who takes bribe money gladly, she hated who she was becoming. "Goodbye councilwoman Hope, thank you for having my daugther here as a guest, we'll be leaving now" Ms. Hope was furious now. Her money was about to portkey away out of here. "Your Majesty, are you implying mistrust of MACUSA's hospitality? As much as I would like to help you, you can't leave with your daughter unless you have a signed permit from the president" Ms. Hope was feeling drained already, she was risking too much, she feared she got suspicios. That's exactly what happened. Scarlet has been paranoid since Severus acussed MACUSA of foul play and this woman was extremely suspicious. She didn't want to raise any flags, so she kept pretending to be oblivious. "Oh, dear soul. I can take my daugther whenever I please. But I respect that I'm out of my jurisdiction here, and the president has been more than kind to my family, which is why I went to him first, here's your signed permit dear."
Mary Hope had no other choice but to let the girl go. Both mother and daugther left to England that evening.

Later that night, back in Prince Manor, both wife and child of Lord Severus Snape, appeared on the front entrance. Scarlet tried entering her home, but the wards were tampered with. From within the Manor came an amplified voice. "Ministry of Magic, state your full name and purpose of visit" Melody was frigthened and looked up to her mother. "Scarlet Haze Bemerton Rosier & Melody Snape Bemerton. We're not visiting we live here" Scarlet was worried, why would the Ministry be here so soon. "Enter" suddenly the wards were completely down, Melody and Scarlet didn't hesistate to enter. Inside they were greeted, more like surrounded by aurors, wands pointed at them, Severus was standing from the top of the stairs, with two aurors by his side, wands pointed to his neck. He looked more preocupied for his daugther and wife than for his own safety. Among the aurors, she spotted Harry, Wolf boy and the other two kids that stayed with Harry all the time. She did not care for their names, but out of the group, only Harry was pointing a wand at Scarlet. "Hello ladies, my name is Margaret Jones, auxiliar headauror for the meantime. Our war hero, Harry James Potter is charging you and your husband with foul play, asociation with the deased Lord Voldemort, murder & identity teft, we will now ask you some questions only the real Scarlet Bemerton would know." Margaret used to study with her back at Hogwarts, Scarlet could see that Margaret didn't want to do this. "Do you accept to be questioned maam?" Margaret said reluctantly. "I accept to be questioned in my home, only if my husband has already been questioned and if you let my daugther step outside the circle" Scarlet trusted that Margaret wouldn't harm her, infact they used to be friends. "Let the girl leave th-" Margaret got interrupted by Harry. "She's a suspect too, she associates with them, she might not be their daugther at all, headauror Jones, you can't accept their requests, they're in no position to bargain" Scarlet knew Harry was right, and so did every other auror there, as Melody begun to step outside the circle, all wands were pointed at her. Scarlet suddenly paled at the thought of her daugther being harmed, she looked at Margaret in the eye and wordlessly begged for mercy. "Wands down. Mr. Potter, you charged with identity teft those who allegedly say they are Severus Snape and Scarlet Bemerton, no one else. It would be unjust to charge an innocent girl." Melody ran to the stairs, she was now in between her father and mother.

"Now, on to some questions, is your name Scarlet Bemerton?"

"Yes"

"Where were you born by wizarding standarts?"

"Wizarding Belgravia"

"Did you use an unforgivable curse to murder today?"

"No"

"She kille-" Harry was interrupted by Jones. "Silence Potter"

"Were you an ally of Tom Riddle, also known as Voldemort?" continued Ms. Jones.

"No, I was infact, hiding from him."

"Did you, Scarlet Bemerton, attend Hogwarts School of Whichcraft and Wizardry"

"Yes"

"Where you sorted a Slytherin?"

"No"

"What house were you storted at then?"

"Ravenclaw"

"Are you asociated with those muggles who live in Buckingham Palace?"

"That's a trick question"

"Answer the question"

"I am associated with those who live in Buckingham palace, however they are not muggles"

"Would you care to explain your answer in detailed information?"

"I have no problem. The Royal Family has always been composed of witches and wizards. One day a Squib was born, and that Squib amd it's descendants were to be appointed  rulers among muggles. They all are aware of their background and respect the wizarding comunity inmensly"

"Your answer has satisfied our question"

"Thank you, is that all Ms. Jones?"

"No, back at Hogwarts, what was your title"

"I had more than one title back at Hogwarts"

"State them in order"

"I used come to Hogwarts before I turned 11 years old, as a "special visitor" that would be my first title, on my first year I became a "Ravenclaw" that would be my second title, on my second year everyone described me as "Maggie's best friend", which would be my third title. On my third year I came out to the school comunity as "Princess Scarlet of Belgravia", fourth title. On my fifth year I became "Mrs. Severus Snape", my fifth title. Also on my fifth year, after the whole wizarding comunity was charmed to forget my existance, I was tittled by the students as "The Wailing Ginger" and I got passed of as a castle ghost thus gaining my sixth title. Has my answer been satisfactory?"

"Very, is there some reliable, respected citizen from wizarding brittain, excluding your husband who could do a statement on the next three hours, that could prove your existance as a Hogwarts student"

"Albus Dumbledore"

"He got murdered by your husband" stated Harry.

"Mr. Potter, you are tampering with an official Ministry questioning. You are not in any position to question the accused, I advise you leave the premises this instantly, escorted by those of the Order of the Phoenix that accompanied you here." With that Remus Lupin, Tonks & the Golden Trio, left Prince Manor. "We pardon ourselves for the interruption, let's continue."  "Is there some reliable, respected citizen from wizarding brittain, excluding your husband who could do a statement over the next three hours, that could prove your existance as a Hogwarts student?"

"Yes, you maam" stated Scarlet, she was now convinced Maggie was still her ally.

"Explain"

"You studied with me back at my time at Hogwarts, we used to be house mates" Scarlet felt hope, she looked up to Severus and they both felt hope.

"Can someone get my statement?" Then another auror got Margaret Jones's oficial statement. All seemed well. "Do you allow us to check your magical signature, Severus Snape has been checked and cleared of all charges I might add" did all charges included his death eater misdemanors?, that's what passed through Scarlet's mind at the moment. She then proceeded to accept. She was also cleared of all charges, the Ministry aurors left and the family was left alone. They reunited once again.
