"Oh no, no, no, no....." Newt frantically searched inside his case. "She's the last one I'd want alone out there!" Jacob watched as his odd wizard friend was close to a panic attack at the loss of a specific beast of which he did not know. " Er, Mr. Scamander?" He shifted his feet as he spoke.
"What exactly are you looking for there?" Newt did not stop checking in every nook and cranny as he replied "(Y/N)! She's a half-beast, a rare creature." He raced in and out of habitats. "She must've followed the others. She has no idea what muggles are like, she's probably scared and hungry, and she has a potion that will wear off any minute now!" Jacob didn't seem too satisfied with his answer.
"Half-beast? Potion? Really Mr. Scamander, I ain't that smart, especially when it comes to..You know, magicy stuffs, you'll have to slow down a bit." Newt sighed and slowly sat down. His hands ran through his curly hair and obvious pain came across his face. "A half-beast.......Well, they aren't a species per-say... More like an experiment." Jacob sat down across from him, his head tilting in interest. "There was a group of wizards, dark wizards, that um..Liked to experiment on creatures as well as humans." Newt's eyes looked to the ground in pain. "Normally they wouldn't survive their procedures. The wizards would take a human and a beast and meld them together; sometimes more than one beast was used. They did it in an attempt to make an army of powerful hybrids, but almost all of the experiments died soon after the procedure. (Y/N) was one of them, but she survived by some miracle, her body accepted the changes. I found her one day in Germany, wandering around with chains around her feet and her hands, I don't know how she escaped, and she was beaten and so very skinny." Jacob's eyes started to water at the tale. Newt continued, "She's the sweetest thing though, amazing after that much trauma, she warmed up to me quickly and I've protected her ever since. I'm very afraid of what might happen to her up there, she's naive about humans and she doesn't know who to trust, plus she gets very afraid when I'm not near. The potion I mentioned is just a little concoction that makes her look..Well, like a muggle, and it only lasts about a day and we don't have much time to find her before the muggles find out what she is." Newt shot up from his seat and began to leave the case. Jacob wiped a stray tear and followed his passionate friend outside the magical zoo.
(More soon! I would've made this one longer, but I'm having trouble recalling the order things happen in the movie and I want it to be as accurate as I can get it. I also wanted a little background on the reader before I get the story really rolling. Feedback is appreciated!)
