Trees blossoming with beautiful pink flowers swayed in the breeze above you as you lay below. The scent of a thousand birds swam into your nostrils as they flew through the twilight sky. This is the place you were before you met Newt. This was home. Sitting up, you could see your village below the hill you were reclining on, everyone was bustling about, getting ready for market day. A tender voice drifted through the silence, it was calling your name. "(Y/N)." You ignored it and felt yourself slowly moving to lay back down and sleep. "(Y/N)!" It called louder. The more you listened to the voice, the more everything around you faded, like a memory. One last "(Y/N)!" snapped you fully back to reality. You gasped and jumped up from the bed you were laid on. Frantically, you looked around for any signs of home again. However, it was completely faded and gone. You never had really missed home since you'd been with Newt, he's always been home to you, but since you had been separated so long it must've brought back those old memories. "Hey, love, calm down. You're home now, with me." You turned and saw Newt in his casual clothes, with his bowtie undone. The more you studied his familiar features, the more you forgot about the dream you had. Your eyes drifted to the ground, only remembering the lonely homesick feeling. Newt came closer and pulled your chin up with his hand and looked you over for any symptoms of illness or injuries. It was only when he stroked your ear that you noticed the potion had worn off and you were back to normal. "You've had quite the adventure, haven't you? Learned a lesson I hope." He strode over to his desk and began fiddling with his bottles and herbs. You sighed and nodded, your tail low in shame. "You know why I have to keep you in here, right love? It's to protect you, and all the others, from those who don't understand, or choose not to understand, the beauty and wonder of magical creatures." He turned around and started patting your forehead with something that smelled like ginger and a strange oil. You nodded again, not looking him in the eye. "I'm very glad you're safe. I don't know what I'd have done if you were hurt, or worse." He massaged your both your ears with his hands, earning a low purr from you. Your sorrowful (E/C) eyes looked into his and you could see how relieved he was that he had found you. Someone cleared their throat at the entryway, a short tubby man with a mustache was standing there awkwardly, he waved a little wave a you. "Oh, um, (Y/N), this is Jacob Kowalski, he's a muggle. He's been helping me find the others." You tilted your head at Jacob and wiggled your nose while trying to capture his scent. He smelled of pastries. "Wow, this is really her then?" Jacob inquired. Newt nodded and smiled at you.
"Yes, this my little half-beast." He said with pride. "Had you not have screamed when those men were attacking you I never would have found you in time." You remembered that night and how scared and alone you were, the thought made you run into Newts arms and hug him tightly. He hugged you back and kissed your head. "Just don't ever do that to me again, please." Newt whispered to you. "So, uh, how many creatures are left Mr. Scamander?" Jacob said, relieving you two of your moment. The hug broke apart and newt threw on his coat. "I'm not sure, still a few I believe. We've got my Erumpent, which is a start." Before Newt could continue, a knock was heard at the case's opening. "Who could that be I wonder? (Y/N), stay here please." You nodded and tugged on his coat for one last hug, he smiled and pulled you into a tender hug before opening the case and leaving followed by Jacob. You saw Newt freeze at the top of the ladder, then as soon as they both were out, the case shut and locked quickly. Leaving you alone.
(SORRY IT'S BEEN SO LONG!!! Thank you for being patient. I love you all! Please tell me what you think!)
