Chapter 12

Princess Rivatha's P.O.V
At least we are not leaving the Kingdom like my brother, by making a scene. But..There has been something bothering me. Seto said I was a only child, but I grew up with him. He will always be my big brother, even if he isn't related to me by blood.

"Here you go Princess." Taylor said giving me some clothes to wear. Wearing a dress isn't something that is good to run in.

"Thanks." I said. She leaves. I take off my black cloak and my dress. I slip on a white t-shirt, black jeans and a dark brown hooded jacket. I look at the mirror and at myself. Feels weird not wearing a dress. The door opens and it's Jace and he looks different! I turn around looking at him. His hair isn't purple anymore! It's back to his white blonde color. He has a pair of dark brown boots in his hand.

"Try these on Princess." He said. I take them.

"Your hair looks-"

"Not insulting anymore." He finished. I smile slightly as I slip on the boots. I stuff my jeans in them.

"They fit." I said.

"Good." He said. I look at him.

"Aren't you gonna change how you look?" I ask.

"Yeah." He said. He sits on the bed next to me. "But we have to talk about the hair."

"I won't dye your hair anymore-"

"No it's not my hair. Yours. Your hair is really long, it might end up getting in the way." Jace said. I move my hair on my left shoulder. My hair is long enough that is touches my lap. Yeah I guess it would.

"But you're not cutting it." I said instantly.

"Don't worry Princess. I wouldn't trust Jason to cut my hair either." Taylor said coming in. She throws clothes at him. "Put this on Jason." Jace stands up and leaves. I look at Taylor. "Be careful Princess. Jason is a nice guy, but I don't think he won't think anything more then your bodyguard." I blush slightly and stand up.

"W-What?" I ask. She rolls her eyes.

"Don't act like you don't have a crush on him. I see the way you look at him. Let me cut your hair." She said.

*Few Minutes Later*

When I come down the steps I see Jace and Jenna sitting at the table talking. I look at Jace. I blush slightly. He still has his dark blue t-shirt, a dark green jacket with the hood up, his hair still covers his ice blue eyes, jeans, and sneakers. He does has his sword on him but..Taylor nudges me slightly snapping me back to reality. I look at her.

"Here Jace, some difference at least." Taylor said tossing Jace a black hat. I sit at the table next to Jace.

"A hat really?" He asks. I look at it and take it. Oohhh! It's a beanie! I look at him. I put it on him. Why does that make him look more cute?

"If you don't like it then give it back." Taylor said. His eyes look at me and then sighs.

"He's keeping it." I answered for him.

"I like it. Keep it." Jenna said.

"The woman have spoken Jace." Oliver said coming in with a platter full of meat and set it on the table. Jace looks at Oliver. "If I were you I wouldn't argue with them. Cause you won't win that argument." I smile slightly. Oliver goes back into the kitchen and brings out more food for dinner.

After we all eat, it's time to leave the Kingdom. I don't know about this. I look over at Jace and Oliver. They are talking, planning a route for us to take. I don't want to leave this Kingdom, it's all I know. But my Father tried to kill my brother on more then one occasion, right under the same roof too. I look at the floor. How could I not have tell? There were days Seto acted strange, like all the energy was drained out of him and he usually had hand injuries. Were those days he almost died?

"Hey." Jace said bringing me back to reality. He has his hands on my shoulders and our eyes meet. "You ready to go?" I bite my bottom lip back and nod. I go where Jace goes, it's simple as that. He and Seto are the only real people I can trust right now. Jace pulls my hood up. Taylor cut my hair so it's mid-back length, she also put it in a ponytail so I could still wear my hood.

"Good luck guys." Taylor said. I look at her. I smile slightly. Jenna opens the back door. Jace tugs on my sleeve.

"Thanks guys." Jace said. Taylor and Oliver nod.

"Anything for a friend man. Don't get kill though. Be careful Princess." Oliver said. I go outside and Jace closes the door after Jenna and I.

"Follow me. Be quiet and do exactly what I say. Do you two understand?" Jace asks. Jenna and I both nod. We follow Jace through a back alley. "We aren't going through the front gates."

"Then how are we getting out?" Jenna asks. Jace looks at us.

"There are other ways out I know of." Jace said. We follow Jace into the streets. Everything is quiet and dark. It is nighttime and people should be asleep. Jace grabs my hand and pulls in me and I notice I'm lagging behind. "Come on Princess. Pick up those feet of yours." We either are running or walking but once we get to the back of the Kingdom next to wall I see a drain opening in the wall. I look at it.

"You aren't serious." Jenna said.

"I am, come on." Jace said. The bars are far enough apart that we can squeeze through, but where would we go?! Jenna squeezes through the bars and onto the other side. Jace does as well. I look at it.

"Don't move!" A voice yelled.  Fear forms in of me.

"Come on Princess!" Jace said grabbing my hand through the bars and squeezing me through. I lose my balance and collapse into his arms. I see torches running towards us. "We need to run. Follow me." Jenna and I follow Jace as we run into the snowy mountains that surround Psyra. Jace grabs my hand pulling on me again. I don't run very fast at all.

"Was this a part of the plan?!" Jenna asks.

"No!" Jace said. I hear barking. Dogs!

"Jace!" I said.

Jace's P.O.V
Dogs! God damnit! The guards seeing three people escaping the Kingdom would think we are prisoners, they are just doing what they are suppose to. I turn and Jenna follows. The Princess isn't a fast runner, meaning the dogs will catch her if I don't do something. I pull out my sword when I hear the barking getting closer and closer. I see a snowy forest ahead. Perfect!

"I want you two to climb the trees! I'll deal with the dogs!" I said.

"Climb?!" Princess said. The Princess never left the castle before, this is gonna be harder then I thought. We run into the forest. I look behind us seeing four dogs closing in on us. These are big dogs too.

"Climb now!" I yelled. Jenna turns and climbs up a tree. I help the Princess up on a branch as a dog jumps at me. I hit the dog making it go crashing to the ground. I back up and see the dogs growling at me, trying to encircle me. I look around me, which they did. I grip my sword in my hand. I won't be walking out this without a injury for sure, but I need to make sure it's a minor one and not a major one. The dogs bark at me and then attack. I put my arm out in front of me making a dog bite my arm. I slice a dog as it comes at me from the side.

"Jace!" Princess said sounding worried. I stab the dog that has a hold of my arm.

"Behind you!" Jenna called. I feel sharp teeth sink themselves into my left leg making me groan. I kick the dog make is yelp in pain and run off. The other dog must have ran off too. I put my sword back in it's sheath. I start favoring my left leg a little. That actually really hurt. Jenna jumps down. I help the Princess down. "It bit you twice. Let me see." I hear voices.

"No time! Come on." I said. I grab their hands pulling them into a run behind me.
