Mark's P.O.V

I'm just surrounded by the purity of white. I passed my test, so where's the door? I looked around and couldn't see any sign of another life form. Was I trapped now? Or do I merely have to wait for someone to see me? I laid on the floor, wondering about the infinite possibilities now the tests are over. What happens after the tests? Wait, I remember that the girl is supposed to see me after the tests!

"Mark" A girl's voice rang out

I sat up and saw the girl walking towards me. She looked different this time. Her hair had streaks of strawberry blonde. Why did her hair change?

"Mark, you have completed your tests" The girl explained "I will take you to where you need to go. But first, you need to close your eyes"

I nodded and closed my eyes, seeing myself in darkness. I waited for a few seconds before I was told to open my eyes again. I was back on my own heaven, at the very start.

"Why am I here again?" I asked
"Because you need to savour this for the final choice" The girl answered
"What final choice?"
"Whether you want to live on earth...or move on into the after life"

I looked at the girl with shocked eyes.

"What makes you think I would choose to die?" I snapped at her
"Because if you choose to die, you will get to see these faces again"

She pointed at Daniel, Dad and pets that have passed away, along with strangers that I have never met.

"These people" The girl continued "Live in the afterlife, where they decided it's another society to live in. They can go into another life on the living side or stay and wait. That is if you choose the side of the after life"

The forecast changed from very sunny into a dark storm. I looked above as it grew very cloudy. I looked back at the girl.

"Or you can choose to live in the living world, with your friends, remaining family and live the life you have been living since you were born" She finished
"Who are you?" I questioned her
"I thought you would have figured it out by now. Or does genetics run differently between the two lives?"

I looked at her with confusion. Until I realised what she was saying. Her hair being black and strawberry blonde, her blue eyes, tan complexion.

The girl was my unborn daughter!

"Your my unborn daughter" I gasped "So you were going to be a girl"
"Correct...Dad. I was going to live as a baby girl but then there was a lesson that you and Georgia has to learn, so I miscarried myself"
"Why did you do that? For what lesson?"
"...To let go"

The light shone in my eyes bright before I was placed between two doors. A white door and a red door. I looked at the two doors, confused. I felt compelled to look through the two doors. But then I saw the symbols on the door. The white door had a dove symbol while the red door had a heart symbol. Just like when I had to choose which necklace I wanted to pick...aka, life or death.

This is like the first test, only it's a choice. Life or death. Whichever one I pick, I won't see anyone from the other side again, unless circumstance. I walked towards the white door to take a peek when words wrote itself in front of me.

Are you sure? Once you open the door, that's your choice

I steeped back and felt anxiety as I realised that I can't take a glimpse of either side. The only thing I can do is choose. White door of death or red door of life. I took off the necklace with the heart symbol, staring at its energy. I looked back towards the doors and dropped the necklace.

"Have you made your decision?" The girl's voice rang out behind me

I turned around and she stood with a smile.

"Well, in the end, I have to let go, like you said" I replied "So I have to let go the people who have passed and move forward with the people I live life with. I'm choosing the red door of life"
"Then Dad, I wish you the best of luck in the living world and head through the red door when you are ready" She said

I smiled and walked towards her, kneeling down to look at her.

"My child, can I hug you before I go. So I at least spent some time with my daughter. You mother got spend a lot of time with you in her stomach" I wondered to her

She just laughed and put her arms around me while I hugged her back.

"Thank you my angel" I smiled
"You're welcome Dad. Can I ask you something?" She piped up
"Sure"
"I have always wondered what you were going to name me. Can you give me a name?"
"Well, I can give you your mother's favourite girl name. Camille"
"Camille Fischbach....I like it"
"Okay, Camille. Bye"
"Bye Dad"

I give her one last hug before I stand up and walk to the red door, opening it. All was white around me and then I could hear a machine beeping. I'm in hospital, I'm living. I turned to my left to see a window. I hear a gasp on my right and see Matthias as I turn my head.

"Mark! You're awake!" He exclaimed
"H...hey" I tiredly sounded
"You have been in a coma for a week"
"I have?"
"Yeah, you have"
"Is anybody else here?"
"Just me for now but I gotta tell everybody else that you're okay. Especially Georgia"

I smiled until I felt something in my hand. I opened up my palm and my heart broke.

The box.

What's inside the box?

The ring.

Another plot twist! How did you like that? I have a few ideas on extending this but I need the opinion of the readers. When the time comes. Not now though, keep enjoying the book while you can.
