i pulled off my tight nylons and unhooked my bra. i through them into the holow log that i allways put my stuff in. i ran  to the edge of the tree and climbed to the fifteenth branch.

i throw  myself on my little bed of feathers and fur i'd bought at a garage sale. i know it's impractical to have a feather bed of fur stuck on a tree, but, on days like this, when the sun shines through the clouds and i can stare of into the medow, it makes me feel like a mideavle princess. i t makes me feel speical for once.

i saw merlin trying to be sneaky, as he slunk up to the base of the tree.

"boo!' i screamed, and shot my throwing knife, which he doged easily.

"wow cass, why are you allways trying to kill me!" he laughed

"because, i know you can take it. your the only person i don't have to hold back on." i smiled

i scratched at the birth mark on my ankle, something i did when i was happy, or scared or mad, or upset, really i was allways scratching that thing.

"hey cass, whats that on your leg?" "nothing, just a little birth mark."

his eyebrows scrunched "let me see" he grabbed my ankle and flipped me upside down, something only he could do, if anyone else did it, they'ed be dead. he inspected my ankle, then slowly lowered me back on the branch.

"cass, do you think-" he said scratching at his head nervously "Merlin, come on there's no way." he leaned back on the base of the tree "i mean, cass, come on, why do you think we get along so well. if im a decendent of Bissan, wouldn't it make sense that your...well..."

"Merlin! i am not an apossle!" i shouted a little too loudly, but it was impossible. i was not an apossle of goddess Elaine.

"merlin-" i stopped his eyes were straight above my head. i turned around, and saw nothing.

"merlin, what is it"

"we've got to go cass. now." i saw worry in his eyes, i knew this was serious

"but merlin, my little sister, i can't leave her with my horrible stepdad! he'll beat her!" merlin was tough, but he was empathetic, and he loved Eva.

"all, right so we go get Eva, then we leave."

"where are we going anyway merlin"

"you'll see cass." the mystery in his  voice made me qeution his words, but i trusted merlin, so i went along with it.
