in the weeks that followed living in the strange house, i started to feel normal. living there was much better then living where i was. but things were about to get bad, fast.

as i walked to miranda's room to get eva, merlin grabbed my arm  "cass, we need to go now! the beasts of men attacked! miranda's dead!" i screamed "she was watching Eva! oh god!""its okay, she's in the baracaded children safe room. shes safe."

i started to breath. "merlin-" then a sharp pain in the side of my ear, screaming, then blackness.

when i woke, i was in an unfamiliar place. i started to sit up, but i was restrained. the memories started to come back, i was within the fortress of beasts of men. "HELP!!!!" who's screaming i thought, then i realized it was me.

i herd thunderous foot steps, then my door opened with a bang, i flinched and turned away. i closed my eyes, and hoped he thought i was sleeping. "i know your awake."he growled "you don't have to be afraid, i'm not gonna hurt, ya." he huffed "no i take that back, you should be very afraid. very, very afraid." he cackled.

i turned around. i gasped, the man was at least seven foot tall, hair sprouted from every area  imagine-able. now i know why they call them beasts of men. he looked like a hungry wolf, ready to devour any poor little sheep that wondered his way.

he smiled "you checking me out, baby."he stepped into my bed and placed his hand onto my ass. i tugged at my hand, trying as hard as i could to get it out of the restraints if only i could slap him i thought. he put his other hand around my waist, i tensed.

just then i herd the door open again. oh no not more of them i thought. a short boy walked threw the door. he looked about my age, with short cropped black hair and a round face. slightly chubby but muscular, with golden brown skin. he looked like he could over power  about any one, except one of these giant men.

"Alabastor, come on, stop messing with her. she's not one of your groupies."

Alabastor stood up, the boy looked tiny compared to him "and what are you gonna do about it Jamey! you think you can over power me?"

Jamey didn't even flinch "You know she's important. if she killed herself or felt like she needed to ascape, you'd be in deep shit, don't you think Alabastor?"

Alabastor grunted and walked out of the room, slaming the door.

"sorry about that guy. he's a total ass whole."  my blank face didn't fault, "could you...." i motioned to the straps that weighed me  down. "oh! right of course! sorry about that..."he started to undo the straps whats wrong with me  i thought, i'm in enemy territory tied down, and i allmost feel welcome.

"so whats so important about me?" i asked. he smiled "you are very special. the oracle predicted that you'll be the one to be the one to be the rise of the beasts of men "

i was confused, didn't Miranda say that i'd be the one to bring the downfall? i stayed silent. he finished undoing the straps and looked up "you know something huh?" he said. i tensed "me? no!" i said a little to fast. he touched my hand, i pulled away. "listen," he said "i don't know why, but i really trust you. so i'm gonna tell you something, really, really important. but you have to tell me what you know first."

i growled "don't talk to me like i'm a child. i know everything, or at least much more than you."

he smiled "no you don't, your trying to intimidate me. so Miranda, she's your oracle right?"  i tensed "how do you know about Miranda!" he smiled "i don't. you do." it all made sense "have you been reading my mind!! get out of my head!" i shouted.

he smiled "i'll tell you what i know first. i know that the beasts of men are bad horrible people that need to be brought down. but i know that your group, the mothers of manipulation aren't much better. thats why i need you. here's the important information; i'm the oracle. and i didn't predict you would be the one to bring the rise of the beast of men. Miranda didn't predict that you'd be the one to bring the downfall of the beasts of men, i put that thought into her head." he smiled for a moment, but sensing my anger he quickly finished telling me what i need to know. "i am an oracle though. you want to know what i predicted?" i nodded "i predicted that you'd be the one to bring the rise of a new race. part warior part wizard, part bard, part monk, it goes on and on. don't you get it?" he asked i shook my head

"It's a race of gods."
