The strange

...

"so where are we going anyway Merlin?" i said as strapped sleeping Eva into the car seat in the back and hoped into the front seat of Merlin's broken-down black Nissan.

"a place for people like us."

i looked at his face. "listen Merlin, i know your used to all this. i mean you actually are a decendent! but i just don't think... i mean its a one in a million chance..."

"cass trust me, i...just know you are."

"how?" i asked. he smiled"because." he was being stubborn. "how?" i asked again "because." he stopped the car, then leaned over and  planted a kiss on my lips. "i promised never to fall in love, but i did." he ran his hand through my hair as i blushed "there can be only one reason for that. you must be related to Elaine, how else would i love you so very much."

i laughed my high chirpy laugh, "Merlin. i like you too, but sometimes you just fall in love. i don't think i'm an apossle, but, i'm willing to go on this journey with you."

he looked at me and laughed "your not listening cass, i know you are." i glared back at him with eye's that were full of pure love "and how is that."

"because cass, you have the mark. any way if your not, they'll just kick you out."

now we were geting to rock hard information "so who's they?"

"the bearers, they tell you if you are or aren't."

there were so many qeutions floating around my head, but i was tired, and besides, my new found romance was like gum stuck to the wall of my  brain and grabbing hold of anything it could find.

i decided two more qeutions "Merlin, if they can kick me out if i'm not, what if i get in and Eva doesn't?"

he smiled at me, "oh no, cass, I'm 100% positive that she's one"

i was to tired to process what he said so i simply asked my second qeustion.

"hey Merlin." 

"yeah cass?"

 "can we go to sleep now?"

"of course, ya know...." he started, but he was all ready asleep.
