Her {Naruto Modern AU}

The Mission

I dress in a black tank, long overcoat, and dark gray jeans. I hide two guns, three hand knives and a lighter in the coat. The five of us get into our mini van and drive off. We choose the most inconspicuous vehicles possible. Darui drives and I ride shot gun. We get to the location, an old factory. "Be alert," I remind as we get out of the car. My eyes scan the area over and over again. I felt more paranoid than usual.

I open the old rusty door and enter last, behind Haku. I see the weapons maker, tall, shoulder length hair and a calculating stare. Heiri, wears square glasses that seems to make her eyes even more intense. "Look who finally showed up," her voice echos through the building. I step out in front and she circles me, "Do you know why I asked you here?" I shrug, "I don't but you're probably going to tell me. She laughs harshly, "One of these days your mouth will be the death of you. Anyway. You have something that I want that you have yet to give me,"

"I want my money," she says in my ear. "And I want my friend friend back," I bite back. I remember the day his didn't come back to hq. He went to settle a deal, a simple deal. But one of her men took it upon himself to kill him. Now she want money. More money than we've already given her.

I lost count how many times we gave in to her and gave more money. This ends tonight. "If you couldn't tell, I'm not giving you the money," I add. She scowls at me. "If you aren't paying me I guess I'll have to take something else from you," I get into defensive position.

Third POV

Heiri jumps at Kuro with a pocket knife. She dodges to the right and pulls out her knife as well. Haku, Zabuza, Juugo, and Darui engage in the lackeys that accompanied her. "You always want more," I grit my teeth. She laughs, "That's the name of the game, hon!" she stab at her and she narrowly dodges it. Kuro lashes out on her and cuts her face and arm, "Shit!" Heiri screams.

Then guns are pulled out. Distance is made between the two. Kuro pulls out her first gun and begins shooting. She hits Heiri's arm but she gets grazed on the shoulder. Bullets go off throughout the factory. But their was someone watching from the high catwalk.

Shikamaru stays put, fearing for his life. He would come to the old factory and watch the clouds from the roof. Once he heard a yell he entered through the window and saw the fight. He stays frozen in place. A stray bullet whizzes by him and ricochets off the wall. His heart is beating like it's going to leap out of his chest.

"Now!" a shout is heard. Men stations around the factory pull out their lighters. They drop them and exit before the flames got too high. "I've been needing to demolish this place!" a cackle rips through the air. "Have fun in hell!" Kuro's eyes go wide and beady.

Shikamaru was closed off by the fire. Each way down was covered in flames. He runs across the catwalk loudly catching Kuro's attention. Her eyes go wider. "There's someone else here!" she shouts as she races up the blazing stairs. "Shit!" she screams. She throws Shikamaru over her shoulder like he's a rag doll. She goes halfway down the stairs before jumping over the edge.

"Kuro!" Juugo yells. They were surrounded my flames. "Run through it! There is no other way!" she screams while running to the exit. She breaks through the fire and puts Shikamaru down, "Wait!"

She runs back in. She covers her mouth with her shirt, "Come on!" she shouts. The four others run out of the door. But as she was running towards the door, burnt wood falls on her. The wood falls on her head. Her head spins. Her vision starts going black as she is trying to get out of the building. She stumbles over the wood and she hits to ground.

Zabuza hears the thump, "Kid!" he goes back into the flames. He comes out moments later with Kuro, unconscious in his arms. "What the hell is going on?!" Shikamaru yells. Haku and Juugo glare at him. "What just happened is you just got her hurt," Zabuza seethes. He sets Kuro on the ground.
