Chuck's POV
As I turned to my right and looked over my shoulder, I felt as though all time had stopped ticking. Her faultless silhouette was all I could see. I sat on her bed in complete admiration and watched her put on her makeup. The figure I was very much admiring was indeed my wife. My wife. I married my best friend — my lover. I couldn't wrap my head around the idea that we had finally made it to the finish line. I have always feared that I wasn't the right man for her and I spent all my time apologising for it, and I was also worried that we'd never get to this day. But the truth is we are perfect together, and here we are now.
"Chuck my love, could you please help me zip this up?" Blair asked for my assistance. I was so busy and caught up with my own thoughts that I hadn't even noticed that Blair had gotten into tonight's dress. "Of course, Blair." I replied.
As she neared me, I could feel the energy that she carried. To me she represented confidence, power, capability and determination. I could feel her breath on my skin as she turned around, facing her back to me. Unintentionally, our hands found each other. And within a split second, I felt her dainty hand run across my cheek. It felt only natural that I stroked her hair, caressing her forehead felt nothing but right.
"Chuck." Blair whispered. She was looking right through me, innocence beamed through her soft chestnut brown eyes. "Blair?" I questioned quietly. "I.. I love you." she confessed. As much as I loved the Blair who had everything in order and in the palm of her hand, this is the side of Blair I loved the most. The side I knew she depended on me to make her feel safe.
"I know Blair. And you know that I love you more than anything in the world." I replied as I kissed her forehead. And before I know it, our lips crashed. The electricity between us started to build up, the fireworks that were booming inside my mind rapidly increased as I felt her soft lips against mine. "You look astonishing tonight." I managed to mumble as we both gasped for air. "Well you don't look too bad yourself, Mr Bass." she playfully commented.
Serena's POV
"Now where is the bride and groom?" I asked aloud as I turned to my left and right. Chuck and Blair were actually, in fact missing.
"They're in Blair's room." Nate said as he walked towards me. "How are you feeling?" he asked me. "Super nervous and excited but our best friends are married now, Nate! I couldn't be happier." I squealed. "So am I." he pursed his lips. "Is everything okay Nate?" I asked him honestly. "Yeah, everything's great, Serena. I'm fine."
Wow Nate really has to work on his poker face. He isn't fooling anyone with it — especially not me. Something must be up but I simply have way too many things on my mind to add another one of everyone's problems to my list.
I took the flight of stairs and headed straight to B's room. I swung the room door open only to find Blair and Chuck in a full on make out session.
"Oh gosh. Gee..guys. I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed. "S! Don't you know how to knock?" Blair practically yelled at me. "It's simple. See, you curl your fingers into a fist and with several thrusts of force, you knock on the door." Blair went on.
"I'm sorry, both of you. I would say continue whatever it is you were up to as long as it stays PG — but unfortunately we have guests to attend to and they will be here any minute and we can't have a wedding reception without the bride and groom." I said with a snark.
