My eyes widen. "You're Yoru's mother?" I ask, shocked.
"Yes, has he never told you about me?" She asks.
I shake my head, which brought the dizziness from earlier rushing back and forcing me to lie back down.
Yoru's mother puts her hand on my shoulder. "Looks like you're not all better yet." She said with a pointed look.
I ignore the statement and continue to question her. "But he said his mother was dead, and that she died shortly after he was born."
She sighs. "Yes, that's what I told him to tell you, should you ever ask."
I turn my head to the side. "He's been lying to me this whole time?"
"He was trying to protect you." She says.
"From what?" I ask.
"There are many things you don't know about yet, but you will find out in good time." She says quietly.
"Now, let's get you dressed and I'll cook you up something in the kitchen." She continues.
I nod and try to push out the many questions that continue to plague my mind.
.......Hiromi's P.O.V.........
I sigh and look into Yoru's eyes.
"Why were you so surprised when I told you I knew about her father's death? Especially when you very well know her father was a good friend of my father's." I say.
He slams his thin hands down on the desk. "Then where were you when he died?!" He yells.
My feet move a step back. "I was...I was....." I find myself searching for a reason.
"I removed every memory she had of you, any trace of the childhood friendship we once shared was swept away with the waterfall of her tears." He says.
His words sting my heart. "I-"
I swallow the lump of tears in my throat, I wouldn't let the person I once looked up to see me cry, I wouldn't let him Know that I cared. "Then why did you come back?"
