The girls would be leaving the How in only a few minutes now. Edmund had just left with Wimbleweather and Glenstorm to take the challenge to Miraz. Susan would ride Caspian's horse, Destier, while Elizabeth and Lucy would ride together on Astro. Elizabeth and Lucy were currently in the stables, tacking Astro so they could leave.
"What happens if we don't come back?" Lucy suddenly asked Elizabeth. Lucy always looked up to Elizabeth, she had taken the role of an older sister; especially since they came to Narnia.
"I don't know, Lu. I haven't had time to think about it really." Elizabeth told the young girl, though Lucy was already starting to blossom into a fine young lady.
"I don't want to lose my siblings; no matter how annoying they can be. I know Peter will look out for us though, he always does. He looks out for you too. I think he cares for you." Lucy confided in Elizabeth.
"Thank you, Lu. I would hope he was able to tolerate my presence after all this time." Elizabeth joked with the youngster. Elizabeth liked the idea of Peter caring for her, but she put her focus on the more pressing matter: the war with the Telmarines.
"Lu, Susan said she needed your help. I believe she's trying to gather up the ones too young to fight and put them somewhere safe." Peter told his sister as he walked into the stable. Lucy put the brush she had been using on Astro down and went to find Susan. Peter watched as Elizabeth began to the bridle on Astro, lowering it from his face when he got spooked. She gentle stroked his nose and allowed him to smell the bridle before putting it on, this time successfully.
"I never knew you could saddle a horse, let alone calm one down." Peter said to Elizabeth, alerting her that he was still there.
"It seems there are a lot of things you didn't know about me." Elizabeth replied, secretly hoping Peter would talk to her more. Elizabeth quite enjoyed talking with the young King and getting to know him better.
"It would appear so. You know, I always thought you were too grown up. You come across as some prissy, prim and proper rule follower, but, you're not really. You know how to hold your own against an enemy, you want to help people; not because of what reward there may be for you, but because you know it's the right thing to do. If I didn't know better, I would say you're a Queen." Peter confessed to Elizabeth. "You certainly are beautiful enough to be one." He added, voice soft as if he didn't want anyone else to hear him. Elizabeth blushed at his words, a smile gracing her face.
"Thank you, Peter. You aren't such a terrible King after all." Elizabeth teased. Peter chuckled at her humor, savoring the last bit of peace before the battle would commence. "I'll go find Lucy and Susan... it's time for us to head out." Elizabeth reminded the boy, starting to walk out of the stables.
"One thing before I go." Elizabeth spoke, turning to Peter. "Don't get yourself killed out there... I care about you Peter." Elizabeth confessed to the boy. She didn't want to confess her feelings, but she saw no harm in telling him she cared... even if she did basically tell Peter she likes him.Elizabeth then left the stables to find Susan and Lucy, who were rounding up the Narnians too young to fight.
"It's time." Elizabeth told the two girls. They all walked back to the stables, mounting the horses. Caspian had walked in, presumably to say goodbye, but Peter was no longer there.
"Destier has always served me well, you are in good hands." Caspian told Susan as he checked Destier's girth.
"Or hooves." Lucy joked, causing everyone to smile.
"Thanks." Susan said to Caspian.
"Look, maybe it's time you had this back." Caspian said as he handed Susan's horn back to her.
"Why don't you hold onto it, you might need to call me again." Susan flirted. Caspian smiled, a blush hinting at his cheeks, as he stepped back. With that, the girls took of down the hallway leading out of the How.
"You might need to call me!?" Lucy mocked her sister.
"Oh shut up!" Susan scolded, the other two girls laughing as they left the How and made their way into the woods.
May it begin. Elizabeth thought.

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that it took me like two months to update again! I was traveling a lot during December in Florida visiting family and friends. I then got a chest cold which turned into a head cold so I was sick for about a week and didn't really feel well enough to do anything. I hope this chapter makes up for it though. I know it isn't very long but I feel if I carried on anymore the chapter would just become a little boring so the next chapter will have some of the dual between Miraz and Peter and some of it will be following Elizabeth and the two Pevensies. I hope 2014 has been going well for everyone and that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year! School starts back up for me this Monday and my disaster moved back in since she graduated college so I don't know how much spare time I'll have for writing and updating. I was hoping you guys could comment a day of the week you think I should update this. I may not always update on time but I will try. So comment below what day you think I should update from now on.*spoilers below*
Okay has anyone read The Hobbit? Did you see the movies? I was a little disappointed with The Desolation of Smaug because Legolas isn't in the book so why put him in the movie? Tauriel wasn't in the book either so why is she in there? There were also some things that didn't correspond with the book at all like the orcs following them to Lakeside, the orcs attacking at Lakeside. Also only Bilbo was supposed to go into the mountain the first time, and Kili wasn't hurt or left behind like in the movie. And Peter Jackson had way too much time focused on Gandalf and the Necromancer. There was a little bit of Gandalf and Necromancer in the book but not a lot.Okay I think I'm done ranting about that now. You guys are awesome I have WAY more reads on this book than I thought I'd get! You guys are awesome!
Keep roaring my Lions!
