Chapter 10: The Celebration

After Susan and Lucy dragged me away from the others we went into our bedroom. Susan, Lucy and I were sharing the same room while we were here. It was a big room with a wash room connected to it. There wasn't indoor plumbing in Narnia like there is in our world. They did have a bath so you could get clean. I was glad we had a bath so after a long day I could relax in it. When I walked into our wash room the bath was already prepared with hot water. I was the first to take a bath. When I got out I put on a robe instead of putting on my dress and getting it wet. I brushed my hair and dried it as well as I could with a towel. I pulled out my dress and the shoes I planned to wear.

My dress was baby blue with long sleeves. The part of the sleeve under my arms continued down past my hands. The dress hugged me in all the right places and reached my toes. It had some silver patterns here and there. My shoes were also blue but the were a darker blue then my dress. They had a little heel but not too much so I could still dance with ease.

I finished drying my hair and let it fall loosely down my back in curls. I put on my dress and shoes then put on some jewelry. I had on a silver necklace and silver earings. The  necklace was simple. It had a silver chain with three diamonds at the end. My earings were diamond studs. Susan walked over in a beautiful purple dress. The dress looked stunning on her.

"You look beautiful Susan! All the men will be begging you to dance with them." I told her. Lucy then walked up in a gold dress. "Lucy, you look beautiful." I told her.

"So do you Elizabeth! I don't think anyone could look better than you do." She told me. I blushed at her comment. Susan's hair was falling down her back in waves. She had clipped back a part from the top that would've been in her face. Lucy had her hair down. It was straight which is how her hair normally is.

"We should probably be making our way down now." Susan said. The celebration started at six, and from what I could tell, it was about that time. We walked through the halls to the doors leading into the ballroom. We could already hear the music and cheer that was just behind these doors.

"The boys are already in there. We can walk in altogether or one at a time. Elizabeth, Lucy? Which do you prefer?" Susan asked us. I honestly didn't care too much. As long as Peter was there it wouldn't matter, even if I were the only girl attending the celebration.

"I'd prefer if we walked in together." Lucy told us.

"Alright then, let's go." Susan announced. We followed Susan through the double doors. As soon as the doors opened I could smell all the food that had been prepared. Everyone was dancing, laughing, eating, and having a good time. Susan and Lucy walked over towards the food but I just stood there watching everyone. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Caspian.

"May I have the pleasure of your first dance?" He asked me, bowing slightly and offering me his hand.

"I would be honoured to dance with the King." I replied. I curtsied and placed my hand on his. He smiled at me and I returned the gesture. We then walked over to where everyone else was dancing. He faced me and held my left hand up in the air with his, and placed his other hand on my waist. I placed my right hand on his shoulder and we spun slowly to the music.

"I was hoping to get to know you a little better. We never really talked before." Caspian told me.

"Well, there was a war going on so. We were all pretty busy." I replied. He chuckled.

"I was hoping we could be friends?" He asked me.

"Of course. Now, what do you want to know?" I asked him.
