Chapter 16: Grover scares off a hotel maid
A few hours later, Percy, Grover, and Annabeth showed up at Luke’s cabin…
“Hey, Luke, we need help…” Annabeth said
“With what?” Luke asked
“Is there any way to get in and out of the underworld?”
“Of course, my dad has done it tones of times.”
“How?”
Luke grabbed a shoebox, dusted it off as best as he could, and handed it to Percy.
Percy opened the box and a shoe started to fly away, but Luke caught it before shoe could go to far.
“Look under the other shoe.” Luke told Percy
He lifted up the other shoe as Luke put the other shoe in the box and Percy closed it as fast as he could.
“This is a map to Persephone’s pearls…” Luke said
“Persephone’s pearls?” Percy asked
“Yah, Persephone has secret visitors that help her in that hell hole.”
“Ah.”
Luke tapped the map, “There are four pearls in the United States and right here is your first stop.”
Percy nodded
“I want you to have my lucky shield.” Luke told Percy
“Thanks.”
“No problem.”
Percy started to walk out of the door with Annabeth and Grover when Luke said “Hey Percy, I want you to promise me two things.”
“Yes, Luke.”
“First, I want you to take Aqua with you.”
“And second?”
“If you see my father on the highway to hell…” Luke paused, “Kick his ass for me.”
“Don’t worry, Luke, I will.”
I smiled, “Would you mind if I come with you guys?”
“No, we wouldn’t mind…”
“Cool.” I picked up my backpack that I packed a little earlier “See you later, Luke.”
“Bye, see you soon.” Luke said
I kissed Luke, he gave me a folded up piece of paper, and Percy, Grover, Annabeth, and I were all gone, going to find the first pearl, out of four.
On the ride to get the pearl from the garden emporium, I opened the piece of paper, Annabeth tried to be nosy, but I pushed her out of my way and I opened the paper, the paper had a lot of things crossed out, it looked like this:
Dear Aqua,
Aqua,
I love you
Do you love me?
How do you feel about me?
I love you, and I want you to be safe, so here is my plan…
We take the lightning bolt back from Percy…
After Percy realizes that he has the master lightning bolt, before he goes to Olympus, this is what I want you to do:
Put the pair of flying shoes on (The one’s that I gave you, NOT Percy’s)
Get ready to fight your brother
Make sure that you have your sword and knife
Make sure you have your mother
Last, Make sure that everyone trusts you ß This is important!

Do these
Make sure you do these things and we will be together in no time!

I grabbed a piece of plain paper and a pen out of my backpack and wrote a letter for Luke:
Dear Luke,
Hey Luke,
I love you, Luke!
I will do everything I can to stop Percy from returning the master lightning bolt to Zeus and stopping the war between the gods!

You know the bit about Medusa, She turned that lady to stone, Percy cut Medusa’s head off, and we got the first pearl, but what scared me to death, was that when we were on the road, we all fell asleep, even Grover, who was driving!!! But, when we stopped at a hotel, I sent the letter to Luke.
Although, Percy gave me a piece of paper in the car about an hour ago, and after we both got out of the pool, I read it, it read:
Are you and Luke planning something?
What are you up to?
Aqua, do you know where the master lightning bolt is?
Are you going to kill Grover, Annabeth, Mom, and I?
I walked over to Percy, with the note and said “No.”
“About what?”
“This.” I raised the letter and Percy nodded
Then, a lady walked by and right then, Grover was holding Medusa’s head, and the lady screamed in fear and ran for her life!
“Let’s get out of here before in home security gets here.” Annabeth noted, and we were off to Nashville, where the next pearl was.
