oikawa cries when he hears the other kids play outside from his bed. he can't play. if he does, he could die.

oikawa cries again, this time because he thinks he might never have any friends. he's lonely.

a ball is thrown through oikawa's bedroom window. it scares him, and he jumps.
after the ball comes a boy, a boy about his age. he climbs through the window and sneaks through oikawa's bedroom to the ball, not noticing him sitting calmly, staring at him.
"who are you?" oikawa asks. the boy jumps and turns to him.
"i swear, it was an accident!" he exclaims. oikawa smiles.
"i'm not angry."
"good," he sighs.
"but who are you?"
"oh, i'm kuroo tetsurou! i live a few houses down," he says, waving his hand to the window. "we're playing volleyball. wanna play with us?"
"i can't."
"why not?"
"because i'll die."
"eh? die?!" kuroo asks, "what do you mean?"
"my heart is broken," oikawa says softly, "okaa-san won't let me leave my bed."
"well, can't you play inside?" oikawa looks up.
"but your friends..."
"i'll throw the ball back, they'll survive without me."
oikawa smiles brightly. "thank you, kuroo-chan!"
