"hey, let's walk to keiji's," oikawa suggests.
"you're supposed to take it easy."
"tetsu, i've been taking it easy for the past twelve hours. i wanna take a walk. please?"
"we can't put mirai on a leash, tooru."
"fine," he pouts disappointedly.
"tooru?"
"yeah?"
"we'll walk when we get back."

oikawa's running. he's out of breath, overheated. his head hurts slightly and his legs ache.
he's never felt so alive.
"you doing okay?" akaashi asks, glancing over at the taller. oikawa nods, panting.
they run for twenty minutes in total, before oikawa slowly starts to decelerate, and stops in his tracks. akaashi turns to him, slowing down himself.
"tooru?"
"i'm fine, just not very good at running. at all," he breathes, walking over to a bench close by. "jesus, okay, yeah. i'm surviving."
"y'know, for someone who hasn't done this, ever, you're doing good," he remarks. "it's a three minute walk back, by the way."
"just give me a minute. i'll be good to go," he says, leaning forwards, arms leaning on his legs. "i hate this. i hate all of the feelings and the exhaustion and god, the sweating, but every step i take, i remember that it's something that a few months ago would've killed me. i can breathe."
"ever since i met you, i've admired you," akaashi admits, sitting down next to him. "even when you were fifteen, you were so strong, and as i've seen you grow, you've always been a role model to me."
"me? why?" oikawa laughs.
"you're so thankful, so humble. you accept what you get and you're thankful for it all. you were born with a huge handicap, but you never seemed to view it as that."
"i used to, when i was a kid," oikawa smiles. "i cried a lot because i couldn't play with any of the other kids. and then kuroo threw his ball through my window, and my life changed forever."
"your love is insane."
"it is, isn't it?"
"yeah. i love yuuji. i adore him, and i wouldn't want anyone but him. but you two... it's completely different. it's the most special type of love on earth. you don't need anything but each other."
"i don't indeed."
