"tooru tooru tooru i have bad news," kuroo announces, smirking at him. "and you're never gonna believe it."
"what is it?" oikawa asks, raising an eyebrow.
"koutarou's no longer single."
"good for him, right?" he says, smiling, "why's that bad?"
"your gaydar is broken~" he sings, "he has a boyfriend!"
"no he does not," oikawa gasps, sitting up, "koutarou?! but he's so incredibly hetero!"
"that's fifty bucks. i called it," he smirks. oikawa groans as he flops back.
"who's the lucky guy?"
"someone named sugawara koushi, and boy, is he pretty."
"you're hurting me, tetsu."
"yeah, yeah, whatever. i could barely believe it at first. but kou's absolutely infatuated."
"but if he's koushi, and he's koutarou, who am i gonna call kou-chan?!"

"he's not pretty. he's gorgeous," oikawa says, jaw dropped, "he rivals keiji, oh my god, is he a model? what did koutarou do to get him?"
"are you saying he's ugly?" kuroo laughs.
"i'm saying that he's the most beautiful thing i've seen in a while."
"gee, thanks," kuroo says sarcastically as they enter the cafe, heading towards the couple for their double date.
"hey guys!" bokuto grins, waving over at them, "over here!"
"hey kou-chan!" oikawa grins, hugging him quickly before sitting down, "sugawara-san, nice to meet you!"
"likewise," he smiles brightly, and oikawa's seen the laugh of angels.
"hey suga," kuroo grins as he sits down, having already met him before.
"we got you hot chocolate, kuroo slipped it's your favourite," sugawara smiles as he gently pushes the drink towards oikawa.
"so sweet, thank you," oikawa says, smiling brightly as he takes a sip.
"no problem! first impressions matter, right?" he winks, and oikawa chuckles.
"i knew you two'd get along well," bokuto grins, mostly to himself.
"tooru's got a crush on him," kuroo says casually, and oikawa smacks his arm.
"shut up, tetsu," he pouts, "what's wrong with you?"
"i'm not gonna lie, i stared at you too for a long moment," sugawara grins, "i'm pleasantly surprised."
