On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree...
POV: Namjoon
"Seokjin, baby, hurry up! The show is starting, and I don't want you to miss it!" I yelled from the empty living room, my back slumped into the green sofa chair covered in golden tinsel.I heard several thumps going down the stairs and a red faced Seokjin appeared in front of the living room arch.
"Has it started already?" he panted, eyeing the TV screen. "Oh, it's a Christmas edition!" he clapped his hands joyfully, joining me on the sofa. "Ooh! Gosh, lucky the kids aren't here right now because the place is so peaceful when they're out," he sighed.
Of course, the show that we were watching was Seokjin's favourite cooking show, and we couldn't miss it, or else he'd probably lose his mind.
We sat down comfortably, my arm over his shoulder as I pulled him closer to my chest, so he could hear my fluttering heartbeat.
I saw his beautiful brown hair cover parts of his fringe, his chocolate eyes staring intently at the screen. I could see the reflection of the television in his eyes.
"You're adorable, Seokjin, did you know that?" I chuckled, giving him a cheeky kiss on the cheek to go along with it. "You're just so cute, I love you so, so much, but I don't think I tell you that enough."
"I love you too, honey," he smiled back, his eyes still fixed onto the television screen. "Hang on, I've gotta take notes, this will make a great Christmas dinner later today, and I wanna impress the kids as well!" he exclaimed, getting up to grab a notepad and a pen.
He turned up the volume of the show as I let him get on with his small note-making, paying close attention to every little detail that was happening.
"Do I even have that stuff in my cupboard? Do I have to season it with that?" he muttered to himself, squinting at one of the ingredients that was mentioned. I have no idea about cooking, so he was just mumbling gibberish to me.
After the cooking show had ended, the kids were all starting to come back from their snow games, one by one. Seokjin was wearing his frilly pink apron and was ready to start cooking, but the children were all covered in snow and ice.
"Dad, what's for dinner?" Jimin asked, shaking the snow off his jet black hair. "I'm hungry, is there any food?" he groaned.
"Be patient, will you?" I snapped, taking a glance at my hardworking Seokjin. "Your lovely father is clearly busy cooking, so just leave him be, okay? He's going to cook up an amazing feast for all of us! He's invited some of your cousins too, isn't that just amazing?"
Hours went by, and Seokjin was still determined to get his roast chicken perfect. I examined his every move, seeing his cute habits as he flipped his hair and bit his lip.
"Baby, do you want some help?" I would offer, but he would shake his head and tell me that he's got everything under control. "Are you sure? I don't want you to get stressed out."
"Don't worry, I'm practically done cooking anyway," he said. "I just have to sea-"
"Ooh, that must be Uncle Yoongi and Aunt Holly! Yay!" Taehyung, my other son, exclaimed cheerfully as he burst open the door. "Hi, uncle Yoongi! Hi, Aunt Holly! Hey, Hoseok and Kookie!"
"Oh," Yoongi said flatly, emotionless as usual. "Hiya, Tae. You good?" he asked. "Where's Joon & Jin at?"
"They're both in the kitchen," he shrugged. "Uncle, do you want to play with us?"
"Play? Go ask my children." he waved his hand away, as a gesture for him to leave. Him and Holly sat down and simply just started to talk.
Within a few minutes, I got the tables set up and Seokjin started to bring out the food. It was an amazingly glorious feast, ready to be savoured.
"I don't really know if this tastes good or not," Seokjin said shyly. "This is the first time I've properly cooked roast chicken like this... I hope that you will all like it, though." he slowly smiled.
"Oh, baby, you know that I love everything you do, no matter what. Merry Christmas, everyone! May this be a good one!" I exclaimed, secretly holding his hand from under the table.
"Merry Christmas, Joonie!"
