On the sixth day of Christmas, my true gave to me, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree...

POV: Jungkook
"And in what world do people get homework during Christmas break?!" I screamed, outraged by the situation. "What kind of teacher gives out a paired assignment over the winter holidays?"

"I dunno, Kookie," my best friend, Hoseok, sighed. "I'm not even in your class, but I feel sorry for you. We didn't get any homework, luckily!" he cheered. "Who's your partner, anyway?"

"Kim Taehyung," I said. "Plus, I don't even know him that we-"

"Wait a second, isn't that the same kid who said you looked 'really hot' the other day?" he smirked, nudging me with his elbow. "I think he has a bit of a crush on you!" he teased.

"Well, like I was saying just now, before you interrupted me that I don't really know him that w-"

"I think that guys are gonna look so cute together!" he cut me off, once again. "What's the project even about?"

"Ugh, just let me finish my sentence, for god's sake!" I exhaled sharply, furrowing my brows at him. "I don't really know him that well, and the project is about Christmas traditions."

"What a stupid homework task," he scoffed. "And that's gonna be a partner assignment, did you say? You could easily write a small one page essay about that on your own," he laughed. "But, maybe you two could talk about how kisses under the mistletoe work, eh?"

"Hoseok, shut up. I barely even know him, let alone try to get him under the mistletoe," I chuckled. "Well, I wanna get this project done before the holidays even start, so I'll see you later, yeah?"

"See ya."

The next day, I got a text from Taehyung, saying that we should meet up at his house to do the project quickly, so we have it over and done with.

Of course, I accepted and arranged to meet with him after school so that we could get started on it.

"So," I started off awkwardly. "I was thinking, for the project, we do something visual." I offered.

"You mean like a drawing or something?" he raised one eyebrow. He was usually a shy and quiet kid, so it sounded weird to hear him speak so normally. "I'm sure we could do some visual aid as well, yeah." he nodded.

"But, what topic should this be about? I don't really know that many Christmas tra-" Hoseok's words suddenly started to echo through my head.

Hoseok had given me a little holly leaf and called it a 'handmade mistletoe', which I remember was shoved deeply into my jacket pocket.

"You okay?" Taehyung asked worryingly, placing a warm hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm fine, it's just that-" I looked up from the floor and immediately made eye contact with him.

His brown chocolate eyes shimmered and sparkled, all of his attention focused on me. He gave me a heartwarming box-shaped smile with a small pat on the arm.

"It's just that what?"

"Well," I got lost in his eyes; they were drawing me in, as if I was under some sort of magic spell.

"Are you okay?" he asked once again. "You acted as though you've been hit by Cupid or something, ahaha." he laughed nervously.

"Did Cupid pay you a visit too, then?" those words slipped off my tongue by accident. I didn't think I had the capability to say something like that to Taehyung, out of all people.

"Um..." he looked around.

"For our project, let's do it about something that I know we both want to be a part of." I said straightforwardly, my eyes still glued onto his beautifully crafted face, his elegant facial features.

"And w-what's that?"

I fished Hoseok's mistletoe out of my pocket and held it above our heads, my other hand reaching out to cup Taehyung's chin.

"What are you d-doi-"

"The mistletoe rules, baby. You've gotta kiss the person who's underneath that leaf, and guess who's underneath it? You and me. So, what does that mean?"

"Oh, Jungkook, don't do th-"

"Merry Christmas, Tae," I closed my eyes, my lips slowly meeting with his. "Love you."

Those last three words seemed to have come out of nowhere, but that didn't matter. Nothing else mattered, because the two of us were under that mistletoe and all we had to do was one little thing.

"M-merry Christmas," we reluctantly pulled away before our lips crashed into each other once again. "I love you too..."
