On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree...
POV: Taehyung
"Look, I'm sorry, okay?" his bitter sounding voice said over the phone. "I'm just too busy r-""You're too busy to make plans with your own boyfriend for Christmas?!l I shrieked, my jaw dropping wide open. "What kind of a lover are you?"
"I'm sorry, Taehyung," he repeated. "but I just can't skip my job at this moment in time, and this new offer could change my whole life around! This could finally be my big break! You understand, don't you, baby?"
"N-no, I don't understand, actually," I stuttered. "I just don't think it's acceptable for you to think that your job is more important than a loved one." I gritted my teeth.
"I'm so sor-"
"Save your apologies, I don't wanna hear any of it," I snapped. "Just... do what you want, and don't talk to me again. That was officially the end of the line, Min Yoongi. We're over!" I cried out, pressing the 'end call' button.
I'm just too busy...
What was he going on about? He was only doing some stupid recordings for an unknown record label- what was the huge fuss even about?
I slumped down onto my chair, bitter, salty tears of regret and heartbreak slowly forming in my eyes.
"Out of all the days in the year, we break up on this day, huh," I muttered to myself bitterly, my eyes glued to the cute puppy calendar that he had gotten me last year.
I'm sorry, Taehyung...
How long is it going to take for him to realise that just saying 'sorry' isn't enough? The way he said it made it sound as though he was some sort of robot, programmed to say the same things all the time in the same tone.
It was absolutely ridiculous.
I took a short break from my phone, desperately trying to forget about Yoongi. I hadn't even seen him for weeks anyway, so it wasn't like there was much of a difference compared to before.
You understand, don't you, baby?
It was Christmas Eve today, which meant that I was probably going to spend tomorrow alone as well.
I grabbed a packet of crisps from my shelf and crunched my way through the food, like an angry hamster on a rampage.
This could finally be my big break!
His words echoed through my head like a horrendous flashback coming back to haunt me.
A few hours later, I heard my doorbell ring, only to see a fancy letter sitting nearly on my snow-covered doormat, addressed to me. The name was written in huge, posh letters, and seemed to elegant to be something from the norm.
My precious darling baby,
I'm so sorry about what happened. I didn't know why it caused me to act like that, but I hope that you'll somehow have the heart to forgive me for it. I love you so much, so please don't forget that.Tomorrow, meet me at your favourite restaurant at 2PM, I promise that I'll be there, with a huge surprise waiting for you.
Please, be there. I beg of you.
I love you,
- YoongiThe letter was signed by the one and only Min Yoongi, and I could recognise his sloppy handwriting from anywhere.
I just can't skip my job...
Naturally, the next day, I decided to go to my favourite restaurant, Jin's Kitchen, and surprisingly enough, Yoongi had reserved a table for two under my name, so I could get in.
I sat down in my seat and patiently waited for him, even though there was no sign of him anywhere.
"Would you like a drink, sir?" one of the waitresses came up to me.
"Is there anything you would like to order yet, sir?" another would query. "Anything at all?"
I just shook my head and explained that I was waiting for somebody, who clearly wasn't going to show up.
I waited ten minutes.
I waited twenty minutes.
I waited half an hour.
I waited forty minutes.
I waited for fifty. An hour went by and he was still nowhere to be found. I eventually gave up- it's not like he was going to show up, anyway.
It's Yoongi, after all.
I was about to head out of the door when I saw somebody with a familiar face sitting in the corner of the restaurant on their own.
Of course, it was him.
"Yoongi, do you know how long I've been waiting for you?!" I yelled in frustration. "I didn't think that you were gonna come at all! What a waste of my time!"
"Oh, shut up, Taehyung. I was here all along," he said nonchalantly, throwing his arms around me. "I missed you so much, baby."
"How come you didn't come to me?" I frowned, holding him tightly.
"I did come... all this way, just for you. I made sacrifices to be with my boyfriend, even if it's just for one day. I did all of this as an apology for before. Plus, I like looking at you from afar. But why didn't you make the effort to come to me?" he whispered in my ear.
"I'm sorry..."
"Merry Christmas, Taehyung, I still love you, no matter what."
