What was that wonderful smell? It filled the air, and my senses tingled at the scent. I turned over in the bed and groaned at the soreness I felt on my side. I opened my eyes and looked around, I was in my room. I slowly sat up and groaned again, looking at myself. I had on different clothes than last night, which made me wonder how that happened. I slowly let my feet touch the cold hardwood floor of my bedroom and stood up. I looked down, I had on my night time shorts and I could see all the scraps on my leg. I let out a sigh and walked to the bathroom, slowly lifted up my shirt and it revealed a bruise and scrap that was the whole length of my side. Perfect, one more thing that went wrong. Dropping my shirt back down I slowly walked into the hallway where the smell got stronger as I made my way to the stairs. Making my way down, I heard the radio and singing coming from the kitchen area. I quickly recognize the voices and a smile comes across my face. I walk down another hall and stand at the kitchen opening looking at the sight before me.
"So baby pull me closer," Nate belts out at the top of his lungs as he pulls a smiling Jessica into him making her laugh. I let out a small laugh as the two carry on without even seeing me there. I look around the massive kitchen and my eyes land on Cameron. He was standing by the stove cooking something. I smiled, he was wearing a white t-shirt that was tight enough to show his defined body structure, paired with some black basketball shorts. His hair was in that cute messy style, almost like he just woke up but it was the cutest look. I made my way over to him, he was focused on whatever he was cooking, and the other two were to focused on dancing and singing they didn't notice me in the kitchen at this point.
"What are you making?" I say leaning on the counter next to him. He smiles and looks over at me.
"French toast, because I heard it was your favorite," he says making me smile. I loved his smile, it made my heart flutter every time he looked at me with it.
"It smells amazing," I say inhaling the wonderful scent of cinnamon.
"He is an amazing cook, a secret nobody knows about him," Nate says turning down the music. "Sorry if we woke you up," he says walking over. He was wearing the same thing as Cameron except he had on a grey shirt and white shorts.
"No, I didn't hear you guys until I got to the stairs," I say making him laugh and Cameron roll his eyes.
"They have been singing like that for an hour now," he says in a fake annoyed voice making Nate smack his head.
"You love my singing so shut the fuck up," he says making me laugh a little. Jessica wouldn't even look at me, and right now I was thankful for that. I wasn't mad at her, I was just upset that she was thinking this was her fault. Nate went back to helping set the table along with Jessica, while I stayed standing next to Cameron. I was carefully rubbing my side when he looked at me with a hurt expression.
"What?" I question as he sets the spatula down and moves in front of me. He places his hands on my hips, making my heart stop for a second as he looks at me. He slowly lifts up my shirt on the right side and as soon as the bruise and scrap are in view his body tenses. I pull my shirt back down and touch his face making him look at me. "Hey, I am fine," I say.
"That should've never happened," he says turning the stove off. I wrap my arms around his waste from behind as he puts all the french toast on a plate.
"Thank you for coming to my rescue, again," I say making him laugh a little.
"You have a habit of attracting trouble I've noticed," he jokes making me laugh a little.
After awhile we all finish breakfast, it was a silent at first but finally Jessica talked to me and we were soon back to our old selves. The boys insisted on hitting the gym that was downstairs. Jessica and I decided we would be counted out, but hey left to do that. While they were downstairs, Jessica and I were in the family room just sitting.
"I really am sorry about last night Allison," she says looking down.
"Jess, it wasn't our fault nor do I blame you. I had a good night besides what happened. Thank you for getting me out of the house," I say making her smile a little.
"We heard there was a gym," Trevor says as him and Nick just come walking in. I laugh a little, remind me again why I showed them where the spare key was?
"Sure, come on in you guys," Jessica jokes as they walk over. Trevor laughs as he gives me a hug.
"Heard Cam and Nate had to rough some guys up? We got the news a little late otherwise we would've been right there with them," he says making Nick agree.
"Yeah, nobody touches our girls," he says making us all laugh. They go downstairs to join the boys while we go back to talking. After an hour Jessica decided she was bored and threw a pillow at me. I looked at her and she knew she made a mistake. Jumping to her feet she let out a scream and took off toward the hallway. I followed behind her with a pillow in hand.
"YOU ARE DEAD!" I shout as we both slide across the wood floor by the entrance, only I let out a scream when the front door opens and I barely stopped in time before slamming into it.
"What in the world are you two doing?" A familiar voice says making us freeze in our tracks.
