It's been two days since my mother got back into town, and I haven't seen or spoken to her since the argument. I stayed at Jessica's house for a few nights to avoid having to deal with anymore fighting. But it was time to go back to school, the weekend was over and we had to face yet another week in this hell hole. Only two months until graduation, two months until I have to face walking down the aisle with no one in the crowd cheering me one because I know my mom will be long gone before then. Sometimes I wish she would stop coming home to visit, because it makes it even harder to say goodbye another time. It's just a reminder of how messed up my perfect life became, and a reminder that I was just another forgotten girl lost in this big world. Even with having the boys around now, something inside me was empty; a piece of me could never be full again because I just had to much damage.
"Hello Earth to Allison," Jessica said as she pokes my side. I was sitting on the edge of her bed with my backpack in hand. She gave me a smile as I looked at her; yet again she was stunning. She was wearing black shorts with a pink tank top that complimented her tan skin. I on the other hand was wearing white shorts and a black shirt, which Jess told me made me look flawless; even tho she says I look flawless in anything. Sometimes I feel like she just says that, you know to make me feel better about myself.
"Ready?" I say getting up and swinging the backpack over my shoulder as I follow her out the bedroom door and downstairs. The smell of breakfast hit my senses as we round the corner to the kitchen where Mrs. Ortega was getting all three of her younger kids ready to leave.
"Morning beautiful ladies," she says with a smile. Jessica easily got her looks from her mother. Mrs. Ortega was half Spanish, which is where Jess's tan skin comes from, and all her kids had her beautiful feathers. It was Jessica, then her little sisters Jayne, Jaz, and baby brother Jordan. Jessica's dad was already at work, but he had good traits as well; obviously why each one of the kids was absolutely perfect in every way possible. I loved their family, and growing up with Jessica since diapers, their family has accepted me as another child in their household.
"Morning mom, we are running a little late so we have to go," Jessica says as her mom laughs pointing behind us.
"Always running late," Nate says as we turn around to see him leaning on the wall. It was an every day thing to see the boys picking us up, only this time Cameron wasn't with Nate. For the first time in awhile Cameron wasn't with his best friend. My heart dropped a little noticing his absence and Nate noticed.
"Let's go," Jessica says as we leave the house and pile into Nates car. He starts driving and I decided to ask.
"What did you do to my boyfriend Nathan?" I say making him look at me through the rearview mirror. A weird emotion was on his face but her quickly shook it off.
"Said he was sick, so he's staying home today," He says. I knew that was a lie, because although they were the school bad boys, they never actually missed school.; and I talked to Cam on the phone last night and he seemed to be perfectly fine.
When we pulled into the school parking lot, the other boys were waiting for us at the front door like normal, still no sign of Cam. My heart dropped a little more as we made our way through the hallway, all the boys being a lot more quit as normal. We parted ways when first period started, and the day went by slow without Cam here. I wasn't focused in class, my mind was just wondering where my boyfriend was and why his friends were acting so weird.
"Don't worry about it bro, we know how it is," I hear around the hallway corner from Nate. I look and he was talking on the phone; of course I decided to listen. "I told you to leave it alone until we all got their. You could've gotten yourself killed," he says in an angry voice. "I don't think it's a good idea to go ahead with this Cam," he says making me listen even more. What was he talking about. "The guy does damage to everyone he comes in contact with, is it worth it?" he adds on before the bell rings making me jump. I didn't hear the end of the conversation because kids started crowding the halls and Nate disappeared. What was going on?
