"Come on Jackson!" Jude says as she pulls on my arm down the driveway.
"Nooo." I whine as I try to go the opposite way, but no luck with that. Never knew she was that strong. Huh, learn new things everyday you know.
"Where are we going anyways?" I question as she drags me across the street.
"Hush peasant." She says as we cross the road and into the safe sidewalk. Jude turns around and faces me and puts a finger on my lips. "Shhh, don't ask questions. It would ruin the surprise."
"What surprise?" I ask as I look back at her only for her to move her fingers across my lips. "Shhhhh, what did I tell you? Be quite."
I roll my eyes and I stayed quite, Jude smiles in her victory and turns around and starts to walk in a direction. Following her I fixed my beanie seeing it was falling to the side a bit.
"Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Day my oh my it's a wonderful day. Plenty of sunshine everyday." Jude sings silently to herself as she skips on the side walk.
"That's such an old song." I commend and looks at a car passing by us. "Why do you always have to bring down the mood. Plus it's an original song. It's from the 1940's and I like the song." Jude says and sticks her tongue at me.
"Old songs sucks, like that's the past. Live in the present."
"What if I don't want to."
"Then deal with it."
Jude didn't say anything afterwards. She stops walking and slows down her pace to walk in the same speed as I am.
"Hm hm hm." I hear a small hum coming from her. "A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine goes down, helps the medicine goes down." She says and giggles.
"What's up with you and old songs."
"It's calming. Like you said, deal with it." Jude says and smirks at her remark.
"Whatever..." I mumble to myself and look away. "We've been waking for more than a minute now, and I'm starting to doubt that we are going somewhere."
"You're right."
I turn my head back at her and raise an eyebrow. "Huh? What do you mean?" I ask. "You're saying we aren't going anywhere?"
"Nope, I just wanted to see how long it would take for you to notice." Jude and laughs. She turns around and starts to run away from me.
I let out a soft laugh as I start running after her.
"You can't catch me I'm the gingerbr-"
"JUDE WATCH OUT!" I scream as I see a car speeding down. I panicked and started to run as fast as I could. I reach out for her hand. Come on Jackson just a bit closer.
It feels like it's all happening in slow motion. Everything has gone into pause, a time freeze.
I grabbed Jude's hand and pull her out of the way just in time before the car could hit her. Landing hard on the floor with a loud thud on my back hurt like butts. Especially since Jude landed on me, but hey. At least she isn't dead or in the hospital.
"WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU?!? YOU COULD'VE GOTTEN YOURSELF KILLED!" I yell at her face. She just looks at me crying all that she could.
"I'm sorry." She says and cries and cries. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry." She repeats on and on.
Jude's father and mother comes running towards us. "Jude!" He mother calls out. Jude gets off of me and stands up, running into her parents arms. "Don't you ever do that again." Jude's father says and held her tightly.
Jude's mother looks up at me and puts me in her arms. "Thank you so much Jackson. What can we ever do to repay you." She says and hugs me tightly.
Never really liked hugs to be honest. I always thought they were overrated and too emotional for me to handle.
"I don't know." Is all that I could say. I was still shock on how I was able to pull Jude away from the car just in time before it could hit her.
I could never think of what would've happen if the car actually hit her...
But I'm glad she is okay.
