*~*~*

New neighborhood, new opportunity to make new friends. Meaning that I have to socialize... dang it.

That 5 hour drive was such a pain in the butt, doesn't mommy know by now that I don't watch Bubble Guppies anymore. I'm a big kid now and I deserve to watch adult shows like Big Time Rush.

Getting out of the car and smelling the new air. Which it isn't really new.. but you know what I mean. It feels so good! Looking over to my right I see a girl my age drawing on the driveway with chalk.

"Go on Jackson! Go draw with her." Mommy says to me. I look up at her and nod my head and start to walk towards her.

As I get closer I could see he wavy brown hair flow by the wind. Her green eyes focused on the drawing which.. is.. um.. I don't know how to put this in words.. I guess you can say it's good? I mean it's just a stick person holding a flower...

Here goes nothing. "Hi.." I say as I stand next to her. "I like your drawing."

She looks up at me seeing that I'm taller than her by an inch or so. Her lips curl up into a smile and she giggles. "Thank you! I've never seen you here before. Are you new?" She asks and tilts her head to the side.

I slowly nod my head. "Yeah I just moved here, my name is Jackson. What's yours?" I ask. She looks into my eyes still smiling. "My name is Jude, nice to meet you Jackson. We are going to be great friends!" She says and stick out her hand for me to shake. With some hesitation I return her shake.

"Come on, help me finish this, you can color her hair and I'll color the flower." Jude says and bends down and kneels on the floor. She picks up a green chalk and starts to fill in the leaves of the flower.

I look at the chalk box and grab a yellow chalk and start to color in the girls hair. "She looks like Goldie locks." Jude says as I am half way into finishing.

Looking at it fully, it does look like Goldie Locks. "Yeah it does doesn't it." I reply with a smile.

"How old are you Jackson? I'm 8 years old." Jude says as she crosses her legs on the floor. "I'm 8 as well." I say not looking at her. Just focusing on finishing the hair.

Jude leans close at the chalk drawing and a big smile grows across her face. "Wow Jackson you are really good at drawing aren't you!" Jude says.

Laughing slightly and letting out a small breath I nods my head. "Yeah my mom and I always draw with each other."

"That's cool, I like to draw but I'm not good at it."

"Maybe drawing isn't for you then."

"Maybe it isn't, but I like it." Jude says and giggles.

What's wrong with this girl, she is so weird but nice and calming at the same time. She is different, like a mystery soon to be discovered.

"Why is your name Jude?" I ask out of no where. Jude looked a bit confused when I asked that question but I was just wondering.

"Hm.." She trails off and looks at a tree in the distance. "Well my momma told me before that Jude means Praised. She said that when I was born she would praise that everything would go good for me. The same goes for me dad." Jude says and looks back at me.

"That sounds weird."

"You're weird."

"Not as much as you." I reply and roll my eyes softly. Jude pouts at me and pokes my cheek. "Meanie." She says and looks away.

"See that makes it even more true that you are weird, you just poked my cheek."

"Poking cheeks are normal! I do that with all my friends!"

"Then you have weird friends for letting you do that to them."

"Whatever, you're just jealous that you don't have friends like me." Jude says and crosses her arms around her chest.

"Like I'd want your friends."

"Well you're my friend" Jude says and pokes my cheek again.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes and look away from her.

"Lay down." Jude says and points at the floor. My eyes widen and looks at her quickly. "W-What?"

"I'm not going to do anything, just lay down." Jude says and grabs my shoulders and forces me to lay down on the floor.

Jude lets out a small giggle as she lays down on the floor. "Look at the clouds." She says and points at one. "That one looks like a bunny."

The bright sun light rays hits my eyes forcing me to squint my eyes. Looking at the clouds that are floating mikes up in the sky I look at one. "That one looks like a motorcycle." I say and point at it. Jude looks where I pointed and shakes her head I'm disappointed. "No you dummy, it's a deer. What kind of imagination do you have up in your brain?"

"Whatever." I say and continue to look at the different shapes and sizes of clouds. But what we didn't know was our parents in the side were taking picture of us and talking amongst themselves. But the only thing I could hear was Jude's fathers voice.

"Cute."
