Class could be so boring, Adrien thought. It took away the time he could be jumping from rooftop to rooftop or he could be just running as far as he could, just to run back the same way and repeat. Instead of having fun, living it up as a super kitty, he was stuck in a classroom listening to the teacher drone on about photosynthesis. At least he had Marinette; she was very entertaining when he tried.

Especially when she sat beside him. Trying to work. With her back to him. Hehe...

Poke!

"Eep!" Marinette yelped, jumping off her seat. She whipped her head to face the blond at her side, glaring angrily at him. Adrien faked innocence, looking out at their other classmates with a smile. No one was used to the two of them and their strange...relationship? They always expected Marinette to be embarrassed and shy around him, and they expected Adrien to be sweet and caring.

Instead, they were presented with a snappy Marinette and teasing Adrien. Ugh.

"What did you do that for?" Marinette asked through a whisper, never dropping her glare.

"What do you mean?" Adrien asked, "I didn't do anything, Princess...!" He struggled to not snicker, watching the girl return to her notebook and scoot just out of his reach. Unfortunately for Marinette, he could scoot as well. Poke!

"Stop!" Marinette squeaked, grabbing Adrien's hands. He laughed, trying to contain most of it, but was left unable to hold it in. Marinette knew better than to leave him able to mess with her, so she closed her notebook and held his hand tightly in her own, practically strangling the boy's digits.

"Marinette?" Adrien called as he tried to yank his hand free. She squeezed harder, so he used his other hand to help in the fight for Righties's freedom. "Marinette, I need that back!" he tried, pulling his wrist and slipping off the bench. That little slip wasn't intentional, and when his bottom hit the floor, he let out a little "Mreow!"

Marinette giggled, "Are you finished?" she asked.

"Yeah, yeah!" Adrien huffed, pulling himself back into his seat. The class collectively rolled their eyes, internally groaning at their stupid classmates.

Later on, when Adrien and Marinette were at the bakery, the two began their homework. It was only for Algebra, which delighted Marinette and horrified Adrien. He was sure if he didn't have his Lady there to help him through it, he'd fail. But, equations can only hold a kitten's attention for so long. Soon enough, his pencil was bouncing off of Plagg's head, disturbing the poor kwami who was just trying to eat.

Plagg's head was apparently quite springy, since when the pencil bounced back up it felt practically like it was going to soar right out of Adrien's hand. Which, of course, made him continue even more persistently. The longer Plagg sat there and let Adrien hit his head, the angrier he became. His eyes narrowed and he set down his cheese, whipping around and zipping up into Adrien's face. "Stop!" he hissed.

Adrien leaned back, surprised by his kwami's actions. Marinette looked up and sighed, slipping her glasses on so she could see what was happening. "What are you two fighting about, now?" she asked.

"Adrien keeps hitting me in the head!" Plagg whined, pointing to the boy with an accusing finger. "I can't even eat my camembert in these conditions!" the little cat dove down, plopping on Marinette's lap and burying his face in her shirt.

Marinette looked up at Adrien, who was trying to appear innocent. That was a lot harder to do with Marinette, since she was used to his tricks. "Adrien, say you're sorry," Marinette commanded, scooping up the little kwami and holding him up for Adrien.

"Nope," Adrien snickered, leaning back in his seat. Then something caught his eye; a little light on the wall that bobbed up and down curiously. Before Marinette could stop him, he was up and behind the sofa, watching the light as it danced across the wall and television. He wrinkled his brow, confused by what it could possibly be. Maybe it was an akuma? Or a new breed of villain sent to attack his Lady. OR MAYBE IT WAS A FAIRY?! That seemed to be the most logical answer, so Adrien did what he thought best; he pounced.

Across the table and behind the TV, Adrien dove to attack the light. It ran down the side of the wall, so he snarled and jumped again, nearly knocking the television off its resting place.

"Adrien!" Marinette yelled. She got to her feet to stop him, but quickly learned what it was that wrong with the boy. She looked outside to see a metal hanging basket shining into the living room and swaying in the wind. It cast a light onto the wall, and for whatever reason that had excited Adrien's cat side and made him attack in fury. It would have been a funny sight, if he wasn't destroying her home one misplaced footstep at a time. "Adrien, calm down!"

"I've almost got it, My Lady!" he shouted. The light had stilled, and he crouched on the floor in front of it, watching it bob menacingly, tauntingly at him. With a quick hiss he pounced again and collided with the wall, "trapping" the light underneath his hands. Or so he thought. "What?" he questioned frantically as the light escaped and ran along the wall away from him. Just as he was about to go after it once again, Marinette grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "I almost had it!" he shouted.

"Adrien, it's just the reflection from that hanging pot outside," Marinette explained. The boy looked out the window, blushing as he realized his stupidity.

"Whoops..."

"Let's just finish our homework, kitten."

That next day, Adrien laid on the chaise in Marinette's room as he waited for the girl to pick a movie. They'd finished patrol half an hour before, so they thought it would be nice to spend a Friday evening watching movies. "What's taking so long, Princess?" he asked. Plagg and Tikki laid at his feet, so he was sure to plop his sock clad foot on poor Plagg's head.

"Could you leave my head alone for once?!" Plagg fussed. Tikki giggled at his side, patting her friend's shoulder comfortingly.

"Stop being so mean to Plagg, Adrien," Marinette fussed.

"I didn't do anything!" Adrien whined at the accusation. Marinette came over and plopped down beside him as the move trailers played. "What are we watching?" Adrien asked, yanking the girl down and against him.

"Aristocats," Marinette answered, snickering at the groans behind herself.

"You're very funny," Adrien said sarcastically. But, before he could say anything else, something popped up on the floor: a little red dot. He looked out her window, but there was nothing there that would reflect red. So, at first he thought it might be a ladybug, which lead him off the chaise and onto the floor to investigate. As he got closer, the dot zipped past him, which made him jump.

Marinette giggled, but that didn't matter to him at that moment. He tried to creep up on the dot the second time around, crouching low to the ground and scooting ever so slowly toward his enemy. Just as he pounced, it whisked away to the other side of the room. "That's hardly fair!" he yelled, sprinting on all fours after the stupid red dot. "C'mere, dottie!" He tried to sound threatening, he really did. But, as soon as he got close again, the dot made its way over to his feet and he spun around. Then it happened again. He slammed his hands down on top of the dot, but it somehow got out and made its way back to the chaise. "No!" he yelped, sprinting back over.

The dot disappeared under the chaise, and Adrien slammed his head against the piece of furniture. From where Marinette laid, she started to laugh as hard as she possibly ever had. She clutched her stomach tightly, rolling onto her other side to laugh harder. Adrien chose to investigate the disappearance of his dot, ignoring the throb in his head.

"Where'd it go?" he asked as he crawled out from the other side of the chaise.

Marinette, unable to speak, held up a silver device. She clicked the little button on it and a red dot appeared right at Adrien's side. He glared, looking back up. The glare only made Marinette laugh harder. "I! I, I'm sorry, Adrien! It was – it was too good to pass up!" she managed through her laughter.

"That was a dirty trick," Adrien grumbled. He crawled back up beside the girl and pulled her against himself, refusing to let her go.

"You're breathing really hard," Marinette commented.

"That's what happens when you try to protect your love," Adrien said with a pout. Marinette giggled again, hitting his chest softly.

"Well, thank you for trying to protect me," Marinette said. Adrien smiled, delighted that he was able to be there for her. "I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my kitty to protect me from the big bad red dot of doom!" she said through another fit of laughter. Adrien returned to his pouting, tightening his hold on her. "A-Adrien!" Marinette yelped when he squeezed her too hard.
