Marinette and Adrien sat on the floor of Marinette's room working on their homework. Of course, Tikki was sure to be spreading cheery encouragement to the two teens as they worked. "C'mon, you two! You know this stuff like the back of your hand!" the little kwami cheered, doing flips in the air as she spoke.
"Yes, yes, thank you Tikki," Marinette giggled, "Could we maybe get some quiet for a minute?"
Tikki giggled and nodded, dipping down to go lay beside Plagg. Adrien looked at the two and snickered, shaking his head. "It's amazing how different they are..." he commented in hopes of pulling Marinette away from their algebra.
"Tell me about it. Tikki's always so cheerful and encouraging and Plagg is...well, he's Plagg," Marinette giggled.
"You're lucky, then, that Tikki at least tries to be helpful," Adrien said, poking the sleeping Plagg with his pencil.
"Sometimes it can be a little much...at least Plagg lets you make mistakes, Tikki always fusses and makes me do the right thing no matter what," Marinette said.
"Please, I'd take that any day."
At that, an idea popped into Marinette's head. "Wanna try something?" she asked, a devilish smirk growing on her face.
Adrien raised a brow, leaning back on his hands as he spoke, "What are you proposing?"
"We switch kwamis. You take care of Tikki and I take care of Plagg, we'll see who has it worse," Marinette explained. They looked over at the two kwamis, who were curled up asleep together, not suspecting a thing. "What do you say?"
"We'll make it more interesting," Adrien started, "If you can't handle Plagg for three days, than you make me an entire chocolate cake all to myself."
"Fine," Marinette leaned forward, "But, when you can't handle Tikki for three days, I want that new blazer we saw in the shop."
"Deal." They shook on it, and had to wake up their kwamis to tell them of the bet. Tikki and Plagg agreed to it, so long as they stayed close during the day to trade back in the case of an akuma.
Day 1:
Marinette woke up that morning with a small body pressed against her neck. Slowly, she opened her eyes to see Plagg there, and she couldn't help but giggle. "You're so cute, Plagg," she cooed as she moved him into her hands.
"Morning..." he yawned, rubbing his eyes. "I'm hungry..."
Marinette giggled, "Well, let's go get some breakfast," she said as she hopped out of bed. This was going to be so easy.
Meanwhile, Adrien was awoken not by the blaring sound of his phone's alarm, but by Tikki pinching his nose. "Hm?" he squeezed his eyes shut tighter, wiggling his nose like a bunny.
"Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead!" Tikki giggled. Adrien pulled himself in a sitting position and rubbed at his eyes as Tikki listed off the things they needed to do before school started. "Shower, shower!" she fussed as soon as he got to his feet.
Adrien laughed and held up his hands, "OK, OK, I'm going!" Tikki was adorable, and already much more efficient than Plagg. Poor Marinette.
At school, Marinette held Plagg in her little purse with a round of cream cheese for him to snack on. Luckily, it wasn't very warm that day, so there was no chance that it would stink up the air around her. Alya plopped down beside her and the two chatted, surprised at first when Plagg made his way out to sit on Marinette.
"Aren't you worried you'll be seen?" Marinette asked, shielding him.
"Nah, I don't this all the time," Plagg said as he stretched out on her lap.
