Carly's POV
It was our last day together in New York before Marshall had to leave to go back home to Michigan. It was so hard to think about the idea of not seeing him every single day. It was going to be incredibly hard to watch him go. So I had to make the most of it now while he was still here.
The morning after great sex is probably the best thing in the world. Especially when you're me and that great sex is with your totally adorable boyfriend. He was still sleeping next to me in my bed, snoring lightly, but lying very still.
I watched his chest rise and fall, and it just gave me such a sense of peace, which was so hard to come by living in a city that never sleeps. Even though there were sounds of sirens and honking taxi cabs, I found solace in feeling his presence of warmth. Louie sat at the end of the bed and stared at me, probably because he didn't like sharing his momma very much. I nudged him with my toes and he began to purr.
"You're so beautiful in the morning," Marshall mumbled into the pillow, a sweet and tired smile plastered on his face.
I giggled and rested back down on the bed to face him. His pale skin against my lavender sheets brought out the blue in his eyes and he almost looked ethereal.
"You're not so bad yourself," I replied, ruffling his scraggly hair with my fingers.
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer into his body to kiss me. Every Time Marshall kissed me, the world around me began to melt away, and it was just the two of us. It scared the hell out of me that I could feel so complete with another person this way, like I could spend the rest of my life in this bed looking into the beautiful pools of blue that were his eyes.
"I could lay here in this bed with you all day," I whispered into neck as he continued to pepper my neck with kisses.
"Then let's stay in bed all day," he replied.
I sat up and picked his shirt up off of the floor and pulled it over my head. My feet touched the cool ground, and I stood up to make my way to the bedroom door.
"I thought we were staying here today?" He asked me as he rolled onto his side.
I nodded, "We are. But we're making breakfast first." He got out of the bed and slid his boxer briefs on before making his way into the kitchen with me.
I paired my phone to my bluetooth speaker that sat on my kitchen counter that I usually used when I cleaned my house and Rule by Nas started to play. I started to bob my head to the beat and rapped along with Nas, causing Marshall to smile from ear to ear. I took the egg carton out of my refrigerator and grabbed some bell peppers. We took out the cutting board to chop up the peppers, dancing along to the music and rapping the words. Marshall cut the peppers while I mixed the eggs to scramble them.
I was really upset thinking about how this wouldn't happen tomorrow, or anytime soon really. Marshall was going back home 641 miles away, and though that wasn't too far, it was still far enough that I wouldn't get to wake up next to him every day.
Rule ended and the next song to play was Jump in The Line by Harry Belafonte. As the eggs cooked on the stove, Marshall twirled me around to the music. I instantly started laughing as I watched him dance to the upbeat music.
"My girl's name is Senora. I tell you, friends, I adore her!" He sang along with the music as loudly as he could, looking straight at me. He took my hand into his and started to dance with me across the room. He was getting so into it, which made me smile and laugh. I had never seen him like this before, and I absolutely adored it. He wrapped his arm around my waist and dipped me backwards. When he pulled me back up to his face, I pressed a kiss to his lips and sang along with Harry Belafonte.
