"Mom please! Come on we have to go!" She let out a cry. My father laid on the ground with a bullet through his head. He was just in transition. The picture of his yellow, gluey eyes stuck in my head. "Mom, the gun shot will just attrack more! We have to go!" I tugged at her repeatedly. She stood up and we made a run. There were a few walkers who almost caught up to us. I would've shot but we had limited bullets.

My mother was still bawling as we ran, she would usually be running faster, but she was weaker then ever. It wasn't always like this. I once had an older brother, and an older sister. We split up from them when we were on the highway. A whole group of walkers had caught up to us and seperated us from them. I haven't seen them since, I'm guessing its been two months since then.

A walker hobbled in front of us from nowhere. I held my mom's hand and we both stopped. I turned behind me to see several walkers surrounding us. We were shuffling in circles, looking for a space big enough to run through. When the walkers got closer, several shots were shot out of nowhere. Walkers fell down one by one,  like a game of dominoes. But the difference was this wasn't a game anymore, its the way to survive.

We looked behind us to see a man on a motorcycle. He stopped right in front of us. Later on a bus pulled up. The door on the bus squeaked as it whipped open. A man hopped out with a gun. "Come on!" I ran behind my mother. We were almost on the bus when a walker sprung out from between two cars. It pulled my mom down and bit her dead in the neck. I screamed and dropped to the ground. "Mom!"

My scream echoed. The man on the motorcycle hopped off his bike and used his crossbow, sending an arrow straight between the walker's eyes. "Damn quiet one." He picked me up and tried to get me onto the bus. "No, no! Mom you have to get up!" More men and women got off the bus and checked the surroundings. My mom spoke as she coughed up a little blood. "You'll be fine Caroline. You have all the pictures, the memories.." "But I won't have you." A tear rolled down her cheek. "Ill always be with you. I love you so so much." She grabbed my hands weakly and kissed my palms. I bent down to kiss her forehead. "You know what we have to do." Her eyes sent mine in the direction of my gun. "I can't.." "You can and you will." She smiled weakly. "I love you Caroline. I love you so much." "I love you Mom, Ill find Olivia and Tyler. Ill see you soon." I kissed her forehead once more.

I picked up my pistol and set it on her temple. "Now Caroline." She closed her eyes. I shut mine, then I pulled the trigger. I sat there for a few seconds when the man on the bike bent down beside me. "Come on, you're coming with us." He started to pick me up. "Wait!" I reached into my mother's pocket and pulled out my father's wedding ring. I took off my mom's necklace which also had her wedding ring. I slid on his ring and clicked the necklace around my neck. The man on the bike helped me up and helped me onto the bus.

9 people piled on. I was sitting in the seat third from the front, looking directly at my mother's body. Two men were tugging her into a backseat of an abandoned car so no biters would get to her. Seconds later I saw two other men running down the streer with my father's body, putting him in the same seat. A man pulled out a camera and took a picture, I didnt see of what but later they came aboard. The korean man sat down next to me, handing me a polaroid picture. It was a photo of my mother and father holding hands. I looked up at him, while having one hand wrapped around the necklace, and the other holding the photo.

"I'm Glenn." ~

A trail of tears strolled down my cheek, one by one. I tugged the photo into another album from by backpack. He handed me a rag. "Don't worry, its clean." I wiped my face. "You can keep it. And I want you to meet Rick." The man stood up and sat down to the seat next to us. He raised his hand making a waving motion. "You were very brave out there. Caroline, isnt it?" I nodded.
