------------14 years later---------------
I eventually gave up on my music career. Every place I went reminded me of music. About a year ago, Edward was introduced to cancer. He died and I can't seem to move on. I needed a new start. Greyson was expelled from Lakewood High. Suspended 3 times in one semester. He stole a piece of art work for an art class project. Morgan was slipping away from me. All she wanted was a boyfriend to love her. Keep in mind, they're 14. I can't keep living this lifestyle. I quite my job.
There again, my life was falling apart. I needed to move away from the city. I needed new everything. A brand new start. A brand spanking new start. New schools. New lifestyles. New house. New everything. My brother visited me and his niece and nephew. About time. He said he'd keep in touch. Whatever!
I took Morgan with me to find a new house and see what we wanted. What a mistake that was. Nothing but attitude.
"Mom, I have a sick amount of homework to do."
"I don't care. Get it done."
"Whatever!"
"You know what? Whatever is...the laziest word of the century. I don't want to hear whatever again in this century. Ever."
*lip said "whatever"*
"I want what's best for you."
"Oh ya, give me my life back."
"I can't."
"And why not!"
"Because you make bad choices."
"Whatever!"
"Your not leaving this car until I get a new word."
"Oh my god! I can't believe you're doing this to me."
"I have no choice anymore Morgan."
..........
"Paranoid!"
"Thank you, that's a good word."
"You're so paranoid!"
"Morgan!"
The home seller drove onto a rode that lead to the country. It was beautiful. The sun shined bright. Rolling hills. 18 anchors of land. Pure land. The house was perfect. It was 9 miles away from the nearest Target store. Great! The kids are going to be so siked! It was a zoo though. They will love it. Morgan did. She loved the cheetahs.
-------the next morning-------
"You're freaking kidding me!"
"No."
"It's a zoo!"
"It's perfect."
"No! No, I'm not moving to a freaking zoo! All my friends are here."
"Greyson, you just got expelled."
"This is what you want. This isn't what I want."
"What do you want then?"
"Dad!"
"Greyson, you know I can't give you that. This gives us a fresh start."
"It's a zoo!"
He started walking away.
"I'm moving to a zoo."
"We bought a zoo mom. I knew he would hate it."
"Am I doing anything right?"
"You're prettier than all the other moms. So that's good!"
"I can cross off beauty on my worries list."
She smiled.
"I've been waiting for that smile for a long time."
She looked at me and laughed.
It was time to move and I cried. This house had so many memories. I had flashbacks. From the time I first moved into this house after Greyson and Morgan were born. From the time I was wanted to become famous. From the way Greyson and Morgan were raised and how much they grew up. From the time Edward got sick. From the times I cried myself to sleep. From the time I deleted the YouTube video. Form all the love that has faded.
"Mom! It's time to go!"
"Coming!"
I grabbed the last suit case that still had the new store smell in it. I was 15 when I moved out her when I met Edward. Now I'm 33 moving to a zoo. A zoo!
"Mom!"
"I'm coming."
You're so stupid Chloe! I could just hear Edward saying that.
"We're here!" Morgan was so happy.
"Yes, we are."
"Look mom, there's the zoo.
It started to rain. Let me rephrase that. It started to rain cats and dogs.
We moved everything in. I cried myself to sleep once again.
"Good morning. I'm the head zoo keeper. I'm Derek."
"Hey."
"This is Robert our water guy. This is our Coo Coo Chin, Crystal. This is Jake, our enclosure designer. This is Ronda, our money and bill boss. Last but not least, there's my cousin Rena. Then there is Austin. They're both 14, they can't legally work her so I pay them from my salary. They both work with the tigers."
"I'm Chloe. This is Morgan, and my big boy Greyson. They're both very good workers. We love the house and I guess this is out zoo now."
"Let me show you around."
Rena's POV
"How old are you, Greyson?"
"14."
"Cool."
"Ya."
"Where did you get your shoes? I'm mean how much did they cost?"
"Um?"
He walked off.
"You know we only have one Target and it's...wait, wait, wait.....9 miles way." I spoke quieter and stopped losing the others.
Austin's POV
"Hey."
"Hey."
"You have really pretty eyes."
Morgan looked at me.
"Thanks."
