The day was a blur. Elena had been walking aimlessly into sympathy ridden "I'm sorry's" all day and she was sick of it. It wasn't the fact that she didn't like the people who were saying them, although some were questionable, it was the fact that nobody really meant it. She had been around long enough to know that when people say some heartfelt apology or ask the inevitable question of 'how are you?" They really don't want a answer.
She needed to get away from it. She knew it was gonna be hard, she just didn't know it was gonna be this hard. She had texted Jeremy saying to was gonna be late home, and not to worry. By the sounds of what he said this morning, she doubted that he would.
A few hours later, Elena found herself by the quarry. She had always loved it here as a kid; Her and Jeremy would spend hours and hours skimming rocks and having competitions on who's would go the furthest. Of course he always won.
It seemed to her now that she wasn't any good at anything. She couldn't even die properly for gods sake. But she was gonna fixed that.
Now they say drownings peaceful, but from what Elena remembered it was far from it. The burning sensation and need for air. It was something that she hoped now one would experience but to be perfectly honest, it didn't really matter to her, her world had been turned upside down since the accident, drowning was the least complicated thing going.
Elena grabbed a few heavy stones from a nearby boulder, and shoved a couple in her jacket pocket. She didn't know if this was gonna work but she had seen it in a couple of movies and if movies can make it look effortless than so can she. Elena took a breath before grabbing a couple more and sliding them into her jean pockets. That should be enough.
The sun was slowly starting to set behind her and the trees were highlighted with a golden, reddish colour. She had been out longer that she thought but she didn't care. She was sure no one was missing her.
She let out a large sigh, before shutting her eyes for a moment. This was it.She stepped into the icy lake below. Before long she was submerged. The cold water causing her to breath it. It felt like fire, the icy liquid burning her throat as she fell deeper into the unknown. Her head was exploding with the strain, the urge to breath it more water was so strong, it felt like a thousand men marching over her skull. It was much quicker than last time. I suppose she didn't have anymore to worry about this time. Those days were over.
Her eyes were beginning to frail along with her arms. Her whole body was sinking, and before long she would be nothing more than the girl who died along with her parents and Jeremy would have no one else to blame.
Her eyes were closing, and she was losing consciousness. Suddenly darkness over came her and she sunk deeper into oblivion.
The next thing she knew, she was looking at a man. A man that she was sure, she had seen before.
