'That way!' Elena retorted, gesturing to her right. Her body was now on the verge of hyperthermia.
Her lips turning a light shade of blue.'Well Elena, that doesn't really narrow it down now does it?' Damon replied, his eyes lingering on her shivering body. God, what he would do her. 'If you lead the way then I'll make sure you get home safe'
Elena looked at him trying to understand why this man, who clearly wasn't going away anytime soon, was so hell bent on saving her life.
Right now she couldn't care less if she lived or if she died. She wasn't any good at either of them.
She shivered violently.
"See, your shivering' Damon uttered, slipping his leather jacket off. 'I must admit Elena, not many girls can get me out of my clothes just by standing in front of me. That takes real skill'
He chuckled. He slipped the jacket over her shoulders. 'By the way, I love that lipstick, I've been looking for that shade of blue for ages.
Elena rolled her eyes.
Your not funny!' She shuddered, now aware of the sudden warmth
Damon smirked.
He thought he was.'Now.. he said before walking away towards the woods, signalling for Elena to follow him. 'Home'
She tutted before reluctantly following. After a few moments they were absorbed into the wood that surrounded the quarry. The full moon and the countless stars was the only light that accompanied them.
'So Damon, do you live round here?' Elena mumbled, clinging to Damon's leather jacket that was draped round her.
He liked the way his jacket looked on her. It definitely suited her more than it suited him.
Damon raised his eyebrow.
'Oh, we're being civil now are we? 'I thought you would have held out on your hatred towards me a little longer.'Elena looked up at him. 'Oh, don't worry, I still hate you but I just thought if we get eaten by a werewolf or something while we're out here..' She looked around, taking in the dark caresses of the wood.
'..then I won't feel too bad knowing that I tried to be friendly to you before you were savagely eaten.'Damon chuckled. I guess she did have a sense of humour after all.
He liked that. It was refreshing.
'I'm actually back visiting for a while. I have a uncle who lives around here so I'm staying with him until I figure some stuff out. How about you? Have you always lived here?'
She looked at him. 'Yeah! Ever since I was little. I mean it used to mean a lot more to me living here. People who used to make this a place worth something aren't around anymore.'
'Elena' Damon suddenly turned and looked at the desolate girl beside him. He knew from the sound of sadness in her voice that she was referring to her parents.
'I sorry about your folks'. I heard they were good people'
That was the most sincere thing that either of them had said to each other all afternoon.
Thank you Damon! That means a lot. But I guess sometimes, bad things happen to good people.
She breathed deeply.
It.. just doesn't seem fair, that's all'
She looked away, her eyes narrowing on the light coming from the distant.
Damon looked at her taking in her shadowed figure that was draped in his jacket, her hair leaving little trickles of water down one of the sleeves.
'I can see the lights from the street, my house is just up here' Elena turned to face him.
'I think I can managed from here'
She walked over to where he was stood, and unwrapped his jacket from her shoulders.
'I guess this is bye then' handing his jacket back to him.
'I would apologise for my lack of manners back there but I'm not completely sure that I've forgiven you' Elena added, locking eyes with the strange man that seem to have become her saviour.Damon stared back into her doe brown eyes and smiled.
'I guess that's why we have time''What does that mea..'
'Goodnight Elena' Damon said, wrapping his jacket back round Elena shoulders. 'Sleep well'
And without warning, he was gone.NOTE. Not the best chapter, I apologise! But please bare with me. Hope you enjoy nevertheless.
