"I don't think this is a good idea bro." Yoongi crouched down feeling like at any moment some flying creature would come and swoop down and escape with him. The sounds of the wind rustling the leaves and the rapid beats of his heart, he could barely hear his own quivering voice. Not to mention, he was very cold, only having brought a light sweater to wear for this occasion. Yoongi shouldn't have listened to Namjoon when he said nonchalantly that tonight was going to be fifty degrees. He left out the part about the winds being seven miles per hour and that there was a slight chance of rain.
"We're almost there." Namjoon pointed to a light in the distance that seemed to be light years away. It took Yoongi a little time to actually find the light he was pointing to. The younger hadn't told the older where they were supposed to be arriving at, just barging into his house yelling something about that there was a place he needed to go to and to slip on a sweater. Luckily, Yoongi's mother wasn't home, she wouldn't have let him out of the house. Since he was so called sick. The boy just told his mother that to get out of going to school on Friday.
Yoongi huffed as he continued to crunch leaves in his path. The sound was identical to the remaining pieces of sanity breaking away in his head. It felt like forever since the two entered the foggy, dark forest and Yoongi's feet were starting to ache. He had tripped on lots of roots from trees, too many to count to be honest. Just then, a few thuds could be heard beyond the two. Namjoon and Yoongi stopped in their tracks, the latter's body shook with fear as he got right behind the younger, burying his face in his back. He didn't want to witness the cliche scary monster who was going to attack them any second now.
"Dude, what the fuck? Let's go!" Namjoon pushed Yoongi's head roughly off of his shoulder blade continuing to walk up the dirt path without the older. Yoongi groaned as he held his head, the push seemed like it had stirred his brain up like scrambled eggs. He finally realized the younger was getting farther and farther away, he skipped to catch up. He took a good look at his surroundings as he ran. The tall monstrous trees casted shadows that strangely looked like people. The leaves being the hair, the branches being the arms, and the trunk being the torso. It didn't make it any better that the shadows were moving with the light that was able to get in through the thick canopy of the leaves. It looked like they were walking, surrounding Yoongi from every angle.
Yoongi stopped himself from thinking anymore about the issue, finally gathering enough strength to power sprint ahead of his friend. He bumped into Namjoon sending him plummeting to the damp earth. The younger groaned as he hit the rocky surface, almost starting to hiss from the pain shooting in his back. He hadn't noticed how close his face had been to the other's face. Their eyes met, or their heads did. Yoongi jumped up upon noticing it, making him nervous and act stupid. A hard cracking sound is what broke the silence suffocating them. You could hear a few mutters of forbidden language from Namjoon and a few mumbled sorry's spilling from Yoongi's mouth. He cursed himself from how many times he apologized even though it wasn't that bad. He didn't know what was exactly coming over him.
"Thanks for giving me a concussion," Namjoon sarcastically chuckled as he grabbed his head, breathing slowly to let the throbbing pain simmer down, "can we sit here for a sec, my head really hurts?" His voice was low being that even him talking made his headache more unbearable. Yoongi nodded, guiding Namjoon towards a tree he could lean on. Since it was his fault he wanted to at least help the guy. Namjoon's dirty blonde hair fell into his closed eyes as he leaned down to somehow lay down. Yoongi watched him with interest, his lips pursing into a thin line as he did so.
"I could carry you back home if you really are hurting." Yoongi offered but Namjoon busted in with many protests at the suggestion. His voice almost sounded afraid, like it was an urgency to get to that light at the end of the seemingly endless path. The older was appalled by the other's reaction, it almost scaring him from how fast the quiet atmosphere left them. "Why do you need to go there anyway?" Yoongi was really curious, maybe it'd give him a clue of what the place actually was. It did seem suspicious being that it was deep in the woods, where no warm bodies seemed to linger.
