"Jimin, I expect you to be on your best behavior." Jimin's mother crouched down to his level grabbing his chin and turning it side to side much to his distaste. She let go and kissed his fluffy cheeks before she left to talk with some lady over tea.
Jimin wiped his cheek harshly to get the lipstick stain off of his face. He stepped inside the room that he was standing in front of. He sighed, he hated these play dates. His playmate, Hoseok, barely liked playing with him. He just wanted to play with someone fun. "Hey." Jimin's mouth formed a thin line as he sat down on the carpet next to the silent boy. Jimin ignored the silence and grabbed for a toy car.
Hoseok caught the toy car and he put it to the other side of him where Jimin couldn't reach it. Then he continued playing with his toys like nothing happened. "Don't touch my toys." Hoseok faintly spoke as he kept his eyes on the toy piano he was playing.
Jimin ruffled his hair and groaned. Jimin's mother always told him that Hoseok liked his company. To a six year old, that meant that he liked playing with Jimin. Jimin was certain Hoseok did not like his company. It's not like he cared much about him either. "What am I supposed to play with?" Jimin yelled in an irritated voice, banging his fist on the carpet.
Hoseok shrugged his shoulders and continued to play with his toys. His hands played random notes on the rainbow toy piano. "You can leave if you want, I never asked you to come." Hoseok tone got a bit rude at the end and he pointed to the door.
Jimin huffed a piece of ebony hair from his eyes and stood up from the carpet he was previously seated on. He couldn't wait to tell his mother that Hoseok didn't like him and he didn't like him either so they could go home and never come back again. "This is great because I never liked you anyway, you're so boring." Jimin laughed at the end and began to skip out of the exit.
Hoseok didn't know what to say. He thought that Jimin liked him and that's why he always came to play. He thought he actually had a friend. But to find out, he was being a jerk to someone who didn't care about his opinion. He was sad. Hoseok had no one to ignore or be mean to now. Jimin was gone and it didn't seem like he was ever gonna come back.
Jimin ran with Sonic speed to his mother in Hoseok's kitchen. "Mom, can we go home?" Jimin tugged on his mother's sleeve desperately trying to get her attention. This was it, his ticket out of this boring place.
"Yes?" Jimin's mother excused herself from the table and went in the middle of the hallway to talk with Jimin. "Go ahead Jiminie."
"Mommy, Hoseok doesn't like me and told me I could leave so let's go home!" Jimin cheered as he pulled on his mother, dragging her to the door.
Jimin's mother was bewildered by what Jimin was telling her and the that he was acting like it didn't matter how hurtful Hoseok's comment really was. "Um, I guess we can leave if you want to." Jimin's mother sighed as she began to put Jimin's shoes and coat on. "Mrs. Jung, it's been a really nice time but Ji is getting a bit tired, thank you!" Jimin's mother waved as she opened the exit of the house.
"Wait!" a tiny voice was heard from the top of the stairs and Jimin turned to see Hoseok with a toy in his hand and his tiny feet scrambling to the Park family. "Don't leave yet!" Hoseok panted and breathed heavily as he got to the bottom of the staircase.
Jimin was confused. Hoseok told him to leave so why would he try to stop him from doing what he wants? Ignoring the thought, Jimin walked over to Hoseok with an annoyed look on his face. "What?" he spat as he fixed his coat.
"I'm sorry for the mean things I said, I don't want you to leave." Hoseok was now crying wiping at his tears. The toy car that Jimin was trying to play with earlier was in his tiny hands. He shoved the toy car in Jimin's chubby hands and smiled. "If I share my toys will you stay?" Hoseok played with his fingers waiting for Jimin's answer.
Jimin was speechless for a moment before his mother nudged his back. "Y-yeah, I'll stay." Jimin was now smiling too and he helped Hoseok wipe his tears away while they walked back upstairs, hand in hand.
