It was another day, and to my surprise, I was feeling lighter today. Somehow. The sun was shining brightly and I knew it was going to be a hot August day. I pushed my headphones into my ears and jogged out of the hotel and onto the streets of LA.

I ran passed an old lady with a little dog who smiled at me as I passed, I smiled back at her, probably the first happy face I had seen in a while, that or I had chosen to ignore all the others that had looked my way recently.

I carried on my jog through the quiet streets of the city, managing to end up outside of a Starbucks. I headed inside and grabbed an iced latte and slowly made my way back to the hotel.

I walked through the lobby, seeing as though it was only 7am; I knew it would be pretty quiet, even for a Saturday morning. As I passed the reception desk, someone crazily waving caught my eye. I looked round to see the receptionist trying to get my attention, so I pulled out my ear bud and walked over to her. "Ah Miss Armstrong, I am so glad I spotted you!" she sighed triumphantly. "Oh" I smiled a little in surprise. "Yes, someone left this for you, about an hour ago" she said, pushing a crisp white envelope across the counter to me. "Oh," I said, my eyes fixed to it. It was blank so I couldn't even try and deduce who had left it from the handwriting. "Thanks...was it a-

"I'm sworn to secrecy" she smiled kindly at me. I sort of giggled a little and nodded at her and then turned and made my way to the lift, holding the envelope lightly in my hands.

................

The ride up in the lift was as slow as could be, but I had promised myself I wouldn't open the envelope until I was in my room. My head was racing with who it could be from, and I tried to calm myself down by trying to think logically, and then stopping at the scary idea of it being from the guy at the bar from the other night. No, he wouldn't have known where I was staying? Unless he followed me? I shuddered, and quickly raced to my room and got inside and locked the door.

I giggled to myself a little then, thinking how ridiculous it seemed. He seemed a nice genuine guy, but then again, you never can tell these days...

Anyway, I sat on the edge of my bed, pulled my headphone out of my ears and dropped them beside me as I stared at the envelope on my lap. Why was my gut telling me this was something important? It could be absolutely anything. I took a deep breath, flipped over the envelope and ripped it open.

Man, was I confused. Inside of the envelope was a key to another room. I sat and stared at it a little while, wondering if this was actually for me, but then the lady at reception did say my name. I sighed, turning the key over, seeing a pink post it note on the back saying '7pm'. I sighed, the nerves in my stomach erupting. I honestly didn't know what to do. So I called Erica.

"I'd go sweetie" she said after I explained everything. "But what if it's someone ready to murder me" I fretted pacing the floor of my room, and staring at the key all the while. Erica giggled. "You watch too much 24" she replied. I tutted at her. "Look, whoever it is, really wants to meet you,"

"No shit Sherlock" I scoffed at her, "well, maybe it's Marshall" she suggested, "yeah right, like he'd ever do this" I scoffed again. "Have you called Hailie?"

"no, she messaged me last night saying she was heading out on a flight to Spain, so I can't call her" I explained. "Hmm, or maybe it's Zak?"

"Shit, do not say that! I never even thought about him" my pulse almost instantly racing. "It is the kind of thing he would do" I added; sweat beginning to pour out of every pore on my body. "Shit Erica, what do I do?" I panicked. "Just calm down" she soothed, hearing the distress in my voice. "We don't know for definite it is him, but you can't chicken out in case it isn't" she told me. "So what do I do?" I asked again. There was silence for a moment. "Right okay." She declared after thinking of an idea. "so you get showered and dressed, something insanely sexy, y'know, just in case, and then I'll call you on the way to the room, and when you get inside, and you find out who it is, then you either hang up or leave the room and it'll be like I'm there with you" she said, "obviously you gotta tell me who it is if you're gonna hang up on me" she giggled, that made me smile. "I guess I could go with that" I sighed. "But why sexy?"
