I walked down the halls staring straight ahead. I tried to keep my eyes down. I knew he was around.

Him and his posse. I started to walk faster but it was no use. I was his prey. I could see the clearing of the cafeteria ahead. It seemed that I was so far away from the doors.

I raced in and out of kids, all around my age. Once I get to the cafeteria, I knew I would be safe.

I picked up my pace. Just as I was two feet away from the doors, a strong figure ran into the side of me, knocking me into a nearby wall.

All the kids stopped and watched. I didn't fall down the wall as I had expected, In fact, the same figure that pushed me into the wall was holding me up, by my neck.

I didn't make eye contact with him. He squeezed my throat and tears came to my eyes but I refused to let them fall.

"Did you think I wouldn't look for you after what stunt you pulled at lunch today?" He spat in my face.

I continued to stare at the ground. He grabbed my face with his free hand and made me face him.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!" I averted my blue eyes to his grey ones.

His eyes were filled with rage. I gulped, which was a mistake because he only tightened his grip on my neck.

"How dare you even think about doing anything to him..." His girlfriend, Courtney, came into view.

She had a massive smirk on her face and I glared in return. Ben, who was holding my neck, dropped me and I fell hard on the cement floor below me.

I grabbed my neck and started to cough. The crowd drew bigger from when it first was created. Everyone had their cellphones out and was taking pictures and videos laughing at me.

I look back to Ben and Courtney, who were standing side by side smirking at me down on the ground. He reached in his back pocket of his backpack and grabbed a chocolate milk bottle.

"Since you poured water on me at lunch, the only way to get even is to do the same... but with 3 week old chocolate milk."

He took the cap off the bottle and threw it at me. I tried to crawl away but his posse blocked my path. I looked up at him with pleading eyes.

I had tripped at lunch and my bottle had landed on his leg, and it didn't have a lid on it. I ran away quickly and I lost him when I ran into the library and began my shift as the T.A.

He kicked me in my back snapping out of the memory and I gasped and he poured the moldy, nasty milk in my mouth and all over me.

I started to choke on the substance and I spit it out all over Courtney. Courtney screamed and that was what attracted the principle. Ben gave me a real quick kick in my side. He bent down and grabbed my molded covered face.

"This is not over, and if you dare say anything, then I will kill you. Thats a promise..."

He stood back up and within seconds he was gone. All of them where. I was left on the floor. The principle walked over and helped me up.

"Let's go to my office, shall we?"

She grabbed my hand and lead me to her office. She started to ask me questions and I refused to talk to her. She started to get annoyed and started to tap her fingers on the desk.

"Cmon, we're not going to get anywhere if you don't tell me what happened."

Our principal was very young. She was only 21 years old. She was the top of her class in all of her schools. Even though she was principal, she still acted like a kid. But she sure didn't dress like one.

She was wearing a black suit that was made for women. He brown hair was straight and rested on her shoulders nicely. Her brown eyes shown that she was obviously bored of the topic and she just wanted to go home.

I sighed and look down. A loud crashing noise came from the cafeteria and she stood up.

"What now?"

She walked out of the room and I quickly waited for the sound of her heels to disappear before I ran out of the room.

It was friday night and I just wanted to go home. I opened up the door and ran outside. The december air felt good on my skin.

I wrapped jacket around me tightly. My side was sore by I ignored it as I ran through the snow.

The sky was covered with clouds and little flurries fell from the sky. I smiled as one fell on my nose. The snow melted instantly against the warmth of my skin. I continued to walk and the snow started to let up after a while.

I walked amongst the sidewalk until the dirt road started taking over. I then walked until my foster family's house appeared.

I lived about 2 miles away from my school. I've been a foster kid all my life, there is nothing special about me. The fact that my parents left me to be stuck with these horrible people proves that.

My foster parents don't feed me. I feed them. Im not aloud to eat their food either. I have to catch my own food and I have to buy everything except for my clothes.

Samantha, the oldest daughter in the house, gave me all of her old clothes. She's the only one who treats me like I'm an actuall human being.

I open up the door to the barn and I walk inside. The barn was in fairly good shape for how old it was. All of the animals had their own stables in the barn.

Jackson, my horse, which was the only gift I ever got, was closest to the loft. The loft was my room. I walked over to him and smiled.

He had a mouthful of hay and whinnied when he saw me.

"Hey Jack, miss me?"

I laughed at his reaction to his nickname. He loves that name. That's what I first called him when I got him on my 13th birthday.

I got it from who was my father's best friend. His name is Michael and he invited me to come and stay in his "pack" and said I would be a very important addition to the pack. I think he's the mayor or something? I don't know.

I declined him and I haven't spoke to him since. He gave me Jackson anyway. I love Jack more than anything. Hes all I have.

I patted Jackson's nose and went upstairs to the loft. I sat on my rickety, old bed and threw my stuff on the floor.

I switched on the lamp and the room lit up with its light. I relaxed little. This is nice, I wish my life was like this all the time.

I was interrupted from my thoughts when a knock on my door occured. I sat up in my bed. In the doorway was my foster mother, Mrs. Smith.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Smith."

I greeted her. She glared at me and walked into my room.

"You're late."

"I'm sorry ma'am. It won't happen again."

I really didn't want to go into explanation as why I was late. She would kill me if she found out I got in a fight.

She shifted from foot to foot and continued to glare at me.

"It better not."

I stood up and I began to fix the wrinkles on my comforter.

"Heres tonight's list. You are to accomplish everything by seven tonight. Dont mess up or I'll sell your horse to the slaughter house."

She threatened and the walked away. I sighed when I knew she was gone for good. I looked at the list in my hands and groaned in frustration.

1. Give the dog a bath. 2. Pick up my prescription from the pharmacist. 3. Do everyone's laundry. 4. Clean out the outhouse. 5. Make dinner. 6. Help Makenna with her homework. 7. Make dessert. 8. Do the dishes.

The list wasn't near as long as it was when I normally got in trouble. I walked down the stairs and began on my chores.
