Dan was startled for a short moment, staring at Phil, his mouth half open.
"U-Uh, yea, it's me." Dan mumbled, his eyes slightly widened as he tried to 'keep it cool'.
Was it a coincidence? Was the guy stalking him or something? These thoughts never actually went through Dan's mind, as the only thing he could think about was how stunning this exquisite pallid emo-looking guy with the bluest eyes he's ever seen was.
There was something about this guy, something that made Dan's flesh tingle and itch with curiosity, he felt an urge to know him. He needed to know Phil, to find out more about him. The fact that he looked and acted like a complete flirty weirdo didn't matter, because there was something special about him, something that Dan has never seen or felt before. Yet, Dan did not want to look desperate or something, he needed to go slower with this, or else he'll probably screw everything up as he thinks he always does.
"So... I'm heading to my friend's house for a party tonight, wanna come with me?" Breaking the awkward silence, the raven haired boy asked Dan,who didn't respond. Trying to 'keep it cool' definitely wasn't working.
"Ah, um, actually I'll be kinda busy tonight, but I'll see if I can go." Dan stuttered, feeling the need to completely avoid this situation.
"Okay then, can I have your number so I can text you the address where the party is gonna be?" With the typical flirty smirk on his face, Phil asked, a hand casually in the pocket of his black skinny jeans, the other fixing his fringe. And with this question, Dan couldn't help but internally freak out. No one has ever asked for his number, what should he do?!
"O-Oh hah sorry I don't have a phone-" Dan panically said the first excuse that came through his mind, quickly running away from Phil the fastest way possible, leaving the other boy standing there, a slightly confused look on his face.
The thought of conquering Dan was a personal challenge to Phil. It's been a while since he fooled around with someone, so why not find a new person? But there was something about this little innocent looking brunette boy that made Phil feel something different from anything he's ever felt towards someone before. He rather ignore this feeling, though. Then, Phil decided to just grab some drinks at the grocery store and head home, giving up on going to the party and thinking about how he's going to get Dan to fall for him, or even just get a hook up, something that's been a while Phil didn't do.
Dan shut his flat's door and sighed, throwing his backpack to a random corner and heading to his bedroom. The only thing that went through his mind the whole way home was Phil. That guy was such a mystery to him, and a part of Dan was dying of curiosity to get to know him, yet the other was warning him to not take the risk. Unfortunately, at this moment, Dan just couldn't let himself to get close to someone again. He was left very vulnerable from the last relationship he had with someone else, and the fear of being broken again was too big.
After eating a bowl of cereal, Dan found himself laying down on his bed, looking up at the ceiling, until he slowly drifted to sleep earlier than he planned.
On the next day, Dan woke up early. He turned on his side, looking at the bright red numbers that were displayed on the digital clock that rested on top of his messy bedside drawer. It was too early for Dan to do anything or even just get out of bed, so he turned to the other side and tried to get some more sleep.
A few hours later, Dan woke up again. It was almost time for lunch, and he decided to call Piper to go have some lunch together and hang out before heading to work together in the afternoon.
