"Lauren?" asked Camila. Her face showed a mixture of surprise and confusion at the same time, probably wondering why Lauren stood in front of her door with her jeans and the safety boots she wearing covered in dirt. "What are you doing here?"
"hi," said Lauren waving her hand awkwardly shy.
Honestly Lauren didn't even realize that she was actually at Camila's door until the brunette herself greeted her. And she started to regret her decision coming here. Lauren asked herself why she took a turn to the brunnete's apartment in the first place. Oh, right. She remembered now.
Lauren was in her office with Dinah along with other tech. development staff, discussing on a proposal for new software used for further protocol usage. The meeting was starting to get a bit deeper as one of the staff explained on how the software would benefit the company when the office phone rang. The few times it rang, Lauren ignored the blaring sound only to gain glances from her colleagues, but the person who called seem pretty insistent to get her attention. Sighing, she stood up from her seat on the arm chair and answered the phone.
"This better be good, Eliza," said Lauren somewhat irritated that her secretary disobeying her order to only take messages if anyone searched for her for she would be on a meeting.
Lauren listened to her secretary on the other line intently with furrowed eyebrows.
"They can't be fucking serious!" she exclaimed before she put the phone back rather harshly.
By now all eyes in the room were on Lauren who was losing her cool stance in a matter of seconds. She gathered her stuff and bag then turning to the confused colleagues.
"Let's put this meeting on hold for another time. I'll have Eliza to re-arrange it. Until then, I want you to find out every other company that has used it for their system. Give me every little detail." She said firmly, not bothering to sit on her previous spot as everyone else was already preparing to leave the room. "Dinah, come on!"
After an hour and a half of driving with Dinah sitting on the passenger sit of her best friend's black rover, Lauren pulled over on the site. She had changed clothes into jeans and dark grey shirt before she and Dinah left the office. She got her helmet from the back seat then got out of the car before slamming the door shut. The chief on this under construction site was already waiting for her anxiously. Never before he saw Lauren this mad before. Surely she tended to be a stern and firm leader but rarely she ever been this mad whenever a problem occurred.
Lauren walked fast and seemed to put more pressure in every step she took, barely acknowledge the chief as he tried to explain the situation. Stopping at the generators room, Lauren and Dinah came to see the room was filled with dirt water – more like water from the ground – only a few inches away from the generator. A few people from Cabregui Energies that stood by the room then turning their eyes to Lauren and Dinah.
"We've already shut the power down, Miss Jauregui and I already talked to the other vendor's chief, he said he didn't know-" said the chief nervously.
"When did this happen?" asked Lauren cutting him mid-sentence.
"I think it happened over night, Miss-"
"This is bullshit!" exclaimed Lauren, turning her heels back to the joint temporary office of Cabregui Energies along with other vendor and contractor. Once Lauren, Dinah and the chief arrived there, Lauren barging into the contractor office without even knocking door.
"You better explain this!" Demanded Lauren.
The man turned his chair around to face Lauren,"Oh, Jauregui. What brought you here?"
