"You gotta stay still, Joshy!" Tyler giggles, holding his brush up in the air. Josh is lying, face down on the bed, sky-blue hair falling over his eyes. He chuckles, nodding.
Tyler dips his brush in some water, before swirling it around in some paint. He guides the paintbrush across Josh's bare back. Josh props his head up with his hands, turning to look at the boy.
His heart flutters, and he smiles at Tyler's furrowed eyebrows. That's one - out of the many, many things that Josh loves about Tyler - how he puts so much dedication and concentration in the things he does. How he's so breathtakingly beautiful - without even knowing it.
The brunet could have hundreds upon thousands of people telling him how beautiful he was and he still wouldn't believe it.
He'd still brush it off without the slightest hesitation.
Josh lies his head down on the pillow, a soft sigh escaping from his pretty pink lips.
The two boys lie in comfortable silence, Tyler lost in his world of watercolour butterflies.
Josh's eyes flutter shut and he listens to the birds' high-pitched chirping outside the curtained windows, going on with their daily conversations that no human really understands.
The sun casts its rays on his back, sending him glimmers of warmth, making him feel at ease. He feels Tyler's brush tickling his skin and he giggles a little.
Tyler smiles, biting his lip. "It's almost done, Joshy. Hold still."
Josh nods, burying his face in the pillow.

"It's beautiful." Josh murmurs, twisting his head to look in the mirror at the artwork on his back. "Almost as pretty as you are, flower. Almost."
Tyler chuckles, cheeks dusted pink. "That's so cliché, Jishwa."
"I wouldn't think that." Josh smiles, glancing at him. "We're two boys who live in an old apartment filled with vintage furniture and paint all day." he pauses. "Also, we're 100 feet-in-the-sky-over-the-rainbow gay.
Tyler laughs, twirling around the room, his skirt floating and twisting around him as he hums along to Bon Iver's Holocene that's floating out of the vintage music player.
A lot of times, Tyler makes Josh wonder what he ever did to deserve this masterpiece of a boy.

(if you make a milk fic reference in the next chapter i wILL BLOCK YOU)
Tyler rubs his finger along Josh's back, watching as the paint comes off, the colours swirling and curling in the water.
Josh and Tyler are both sitting crosslegged in the bathtub. The brunet leans his head on Josh's back, closing him eyes.
"M'tired, Josh." he mumbles, pressing a kiss onto Josh's freckled skin. The blue-haired boy smiles, turning to face him.
He gets the both of them clean, before lifting Tyler out of the bathtub, setting him down on the bathroom counter, grabbing a towel. After both of them are dry, he picks the brunet up yet again, this time bridal style, and brings him to the bedroom.
Tyler sighs contentedly, nestling his head in Josh chest, looking up at the boy through his eyelashes. Josh gently eases him onto the bed, pressing a kiss to his forehead - the grave of the hundreds upon thousands of kisses that the boy has ever lovingly given him and will never stop giving.
"Lie with me, Joshy?" Tyler asks quietly. Josh's lips are tugged into a smile. "Of course, baby boy."
He climbs in under the covers, pulling the other boy's thin frame closer. Tyler wraps his arms around Josh's waist, face buried in his chest.
It's just skin on skin, but it's more......intimate than sexual.
And the two boys wouldn't have wanted to have it any other way.
