In Korean there are two sets of numbers, one is Native Korean numbers, the other set is Sino-Korean numbers, which are used more in general.

Native Korean is used for telling time ONLY hours, amounts of hours, amounts of months, and numbers of age.

Sino-Korean is used for telling time ONLY minutes and seconds, as well as dates and months of the year. Also amount of money/currency, Maths, measurements and phone numbers, addresses, floors of building and everything else.

Useful tips, don't worry too much if you're not sure which set of numbers to use, you can use Sino-Korean as most Koreans will understand what you mean.For this Category, both sets of numbers are given.Native Korean / Sino Korean.

☆ Native Korean ☆

■ Single Digit ■

0 = gong 공

1 = hana 하나

2 = dul 둘

3 = set 셋

4 = net넷

5 = da seot 다 섯

6 = yeo seot 여 섯

7 = il gop 일 곱

8 = yeo deop 여 덟

9 = a hop 아 홉

■ Ten,twenty,thirty... ■

10 = yeol 열

20 = seumul 스물

30 = seoreun 서른

40 = maheun 마흔

50 = swin 쉰

60 = yesun 예순

70 = ilheun 일흔

80 = yeodeun 여든

90 = aheun 아흔

100 = baek 백

This formation is quite similar to English number in sense that you have a set of numbers for single digits (1-10) and another set of tens (10-90).

To say 15 ,it is really simple.

10 is yeol and 5 is da seot in Native Korean,all you need is to combine it...

★10 + 5 = 15

★Yeol + daseot = yeol daseot

15 is yeol daseot in Native Korean,as easy as that :D

★20 (seumul) + 1 (hana) = 21 seumul hana

★80 (yeodun) + 7 (ilgop) = 87 yeodun ilgop

☆ Sino Korean ☆

■ Single Digit ■

0 = yeong 영

1 = il 일

2 = i 이

4 = sa 사

5 = o 오

6 = yuk 육

100 = baek 백

1000 = cheon 천

10,000 = man 만

100,000 = sip man 십 만

1 Million = baek man 백 만

10 Million = cheon man 천 만

100 Million = eok 억

Notice that '100' , '1000' etc. are not 'il baek 일 백' , 'il cheon 일 천' etc.

▶ HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES ...

★2 is i + 10 is sip = 20

20  is i sip

★3 is sam + 10 is sip + 4 is sa = 34

34 is sam sip sa

As easy as that :D
